Hello! Did you catch my YouTube Live this week? If not, don’t panic the reply is linked later in this blog post. We had heaps of fun this week making a couple of cards using Masking techniques, and the Rainbows of Happiness stamp and die bundle. I absolutely LOVE this stamp and die set, it’s just got very happy vibes!
This card is so bright and happy. I couldn’t not make a rainbow card in rainbow colours; Poppy Parade, Mango melody, Granny Apple Green and Pacific Point. But the part of this card I really love is the background, those dimensional, sparkly, Embossing Paste Rainbows! To create those rainbows, I made a mask by die cutting the rainbow from a piece of Window Sheet, and then added the embossing paste over the top.
The second card in this week’s video, uses masks again, but this time with ink to create a really soft background.

StampinByHannah How to make a fun Birthday card using Delightful Daisy from Stampin’ Up!
This week I have shared a heap of ways to use up your Designer Series Paper before the new Annual Catalogue lands in May… and today is no different. One of my favourite packs of Designer Series Paper this past year has been the Delightful Daisy. It is a fun take on a classic floral, with a hint of watercolour. Just lovely.
This card came together in less than 15 minutes… check the video for all the details. You can find my Standard Card Measurements on THIS page.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is taken from the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp set, which is also this month’s Stamp of the Month!
The Delightful Daisy suite features not only this wonderful Designer Series Paper but also the Daisy Delight Stamp set and coordinating Daisy Punch. Grab the Designer Series Paper and the Stamp and Punch Bundle soon before they retire.

StampinByHannah How to… Ink Blending with Stampin’ Up! Classic Ink
I have been having so much fun with Ink Blending recently! On Tuesday I shared THIScard for the Go for Greece blog hop with the lovely Kylie Bertucci, and had a few comments about my ink blending… so I thought I would share a fun tutorial with you today.
I think that most of my Ink Blending top tips are in the video… so do check that out!
The stamp set at work here is the lovely Lovely Inside and Out. I LOVE this stamp set, its great for heaps of different occasions with a bunch of mix and match sentiments… and I cannot get enough of those background images too.
I have been having loads of fun with layering recently, and this card is a continuation of that! Not only have I layered ink blending and tone on tone stamping… but then the heat embossed sentiment is layered with a piece of Delicate White Doily, some loops of Black Metallic Thread and a trio of Glitter Enamel Dots.
Oh! before I go, Sweet Sugarplum (the colour I’ve used in this card!) is one of the 2016-2018 In-Colours… and it’s due to retire REALLY soon, along with Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach, and Flirty Flamingo! So, grab your In-Colour ink refills and card stock now before they sell out!

StampinByHannah Techniques Shadow Stamping with Amazing You from Stampin’ Up!
I have a quick technique for you this week… you guys know how much I love a good stamp-y technique, and this one is super simple but really fun!
The sentiment is taken from All Things Thanks. I have double stamped it here with Whisper White ink first and then over stamped in Basic Grey to create this fun Shadow Stamping effect.
The trick here really is a stamp positioning tool. I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig for this one, but I cannot wait for the Stamparatus to arrive in my craft room so I can make more cards like this one! the Stamparatus is the new Stamp Positioning tool from Stampin’ Up! which will launch properly in the new Annual catalogue in June… but I did manage to pre-order one that should be coming very soon!
I think my favourite bit of this card is the coloured doily… I have been doing this quite a bit recently (and have already shared a card with this this week!) using Stampin’ Blends to colour up those cute doilies. LOVE!
The background of this card uses the Amazing You stamp set which is available for FREE during Sale-a-bration.

StampinByHannah Techniques How to create a dimensional sentiment with Celebrate You from Stampin’ Up!
I have a quick and fun Techniques video for you today. I am just LOVING the Celebrate You thinlits that are currently available for FREE during Sale-a-bration. Actually, before I forget Stampin’ Up! added some extra Sale-a-bration freebies this morning… you can check them out in my Online Store!
So, today’s technique… I have been having heaps of fun stacking the die cuts from this thinlit set, and I thought I would share some of my top tips that might help you create some fabulously dimensional die cut sentiments!
This card is so cute! It’s a fun 4 x 4″ size, with a 3-3/4 x 3-3/4″ piece of Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper and a large die cut Stitched Circle in Vellum. Both the die cut and the Glitter Enamel Dot are strategically placed to cover the Mini Dimensionals I used to adhere the Vellum to the card. I LOVE adding Vellum with dimensionals, just because the Vellum is lifted slightly off the front of the card and it creates a lovely shadow effect.
Top Tips;
Use Multi-Purpose Adhesive Sheet on the back of your card stock before you start to die cut your sentiment
Die cut 3-5 pieces to give you a nice thick sentiment
Use your Silicone Mat to help you ensure that die cuts are lined up
It is easier to line up shorter words… so try a word like YOU before you head for something longer and swirly!
The ‘Thank’ is taken from one of the stamps in the All Things Thanks stamp set, and I selectively inked it with a Stampin’ Write Marker in Night of Navy to ensure that I just had the portion of the stamp I needed.

StampinByHannah Techniques How to create a hard lines watercolour background
Some weeks working out which technique to share can be a struggle… but not this week! I made the card in this post last week, after I spotted a card on one of the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Facebook groups, and just had so much fun creating the background that I knew I HAD to share it!
This card would be so lovely as a Wedding congratulations, or engagement card. I have used a sentiment from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set, mainly because it coordinates with the dies… but looking at it now a Congratulations sentiment would have worked better!
This is one of those cards with lots of layers… so I will give you a quick run down:
Watercoloured technique on Shimmery White card stock (check the video for all the details on this one!)
Die cut area using the Eclectic Layers dies. The whole watercoloured panel is popped up on Dimensionals, and I have added some of the die cut pieces back in (in an almost inlay die cut style) with some Gold Glimmer Paper pieces added in too
Two leaves punched from Champagne Foil with the Leaf Punch
A vellum Everyday Label (punched)
Flower die cut from the Eclectic Layers dies in Blushing Bride with a Clear Faceted Gem in the centre
Sentiment heat embossed in White, punched with the Classic Label Punch
The focus of this blog post isn’t that card though… it’s about the techniques right!
The background is created with a fun, and quick, watercolour technique that I am calling Hard Lines Watercolour (I’m sure someone else has a better name for it!). I LOVE doing this for a quick and easy background. It’s super pretty when you use a soft colour like Blushing Bride, but it can be really striking in a bolder colour too!
I think I have covered everything in the video… it’s really just about adding layers, and drying in between. Using a Heat Tool really helps as the ink drys before it has time to spread out, and therefore gives those lovely hard lines! I could totally play around with this for hours… different colours, different sized paint brushes, different amounts of water all create different effects but they are all so pretty.
The panel I created in this week’s Techniques Video has also been made into a card… and you can see that if you subscribe to my emails in my Stampin’ Inspiration Monday Video!

StampinByHannah Techniques How to colour your Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper
I am completely in love with the Petal Palette Suite in the Stampin’ Up! Spring Summer catalogue. I mean, what is not to love about floral stamps, sentiments in a pretty font and Black and White Designer Series Paper?! Its SO pretty, and I just cannot put it away! I have been using it a lot recently, and I hate to tell you, I’m not sick of it yet and there is more coming next week too…
The star of the show here is definitely the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper. This pack is purely Black and White and features a collection of floral and leafy prints. This makes it the perfect candidate for colouring. I have previously used Watercolour Pencils and a Blender pen, and there are heaps of Blends examples floating around Pinterest, but here I have chosen to use a Sponge Brayer.
Using a Basic Black card base always causes the question; Where do you write? Do you decorate the inside of your cards?
Well, here I have added a piece of Whisper White card stock on the inside, with a spot of stamping using the coordinating Petal Palette Stamp set and a hint of colour added with a sponge.

StampinByHannah Techniques Rock and Roll Stamping with Heart Happiness from Stampin’ Up!
For our final Valentines card inspiration, I have a really quick and easy, technique for you… one you might well have done before, but may not have played with for a while! I certainly haven’t pulled this one out of my techniques stash for ages. Actually I think the last time I did Rock and Roll stamping was for THIS video!
I also particularly love the colour combination on this card…
What colours are you planning for your Valentines this year?
I have been trying to add Top Tips to these blog posts recently, but I think I probably covered everything in the video this week! It’s such a simple idea… I would suggest inking your stamp with the lighter ink colour first, and then adding the darker colour around the outside… although I do have a way of doing it the other way around (that isn’t going to get dark ink into your light coloured ink pad) that I might film soon!
So, I hope that you have enjoyed visiting my blog this week. Check back tomorrow for a fun blog hop with my team…

StampinByHannah Techniques How to assemble a custom sentiment with Amazing You
This week’s techniques video is probably less about the technique and more about the card…. actually there are two techniques in this card, but I wound rabbit on too long about the other one!
This card was inspired by the lovely Holly Stene and THIS card which I spotted on Instagram. I have recently started to ‘save’ my favourite ideas on Instagram ready for inspiration at a later date, but this time I think this card was so imprinted on my brain that I only went into my ‘saved’ feed to work out who made the original!
So, two techniques for the price of one?! Yep, first lets just quickly mention those flowers…. and stamping with Stampin’ Write markers! I LOVE using my markers to colour my stamps and get multi-coloured stamped images. Check the video for my top tips!
The second (and main) technique is about that sentiment. The Amazing You Stamp set and Celebrate You thinlits dies (both available for FREE during Sale-a-bration by the way!) are a great way to customise you cards. The combination of the stamps and dies allow you to create your own sentiments… and there are heaps of possibilities! I’ve used ‘Lets Celebrate You’ today, but would love to see your sentiment ideas in the comments below!
I have a fabulous class planned with this stamp and die set, for FREE, in February. You can find all the information about my upcoming classes and events HERE, and you can find out more about my Facebook Live Online Card Classes over on my Facebook Page.
