Curvy Celebrations Make and Take

Hello! So, I’ve been meaning to blog this card for a while. I made it last month during a virtual Team event, and then life got crazy busy with the arrival of my baby boy (George), and blogging and crafting sort of fell by the way side a little. However, I have started to find pockets of time in my day to get back to the blog, and so it’s time to share this card!

Curvy Celebrations bird card with StampinByHannah

When I say, pockets of time, I’m actually typing this on my phone at 1am after a night feed! Oh the things we do!

Anyway, this card uses a lovely bundle of stamp set and dies from the upcoming January-June Mini catalogue. Quite Curvy is available now though as an early release, and I’ve had loads of fun playing with it!

Here both the leave border and the birds have been stamped and then coloured by using a Wink Of Stella brush pen to pull the colour across the image. I love this technique, which gives you a lovely, subtle shimmer to your stamping

Quite Curvy just for you card using Stampin’ Up! Products with StampinByHannah

Anyway, I am hoping to find 20 minutes or so on Tuesday morning for a quick Facebook Live and a bit of a sneaky peak at some of the new goodies that are coming in the new year, as well as new about some classes and kits I have coming up to. All depends on when my pre-order turns up though as I should have been here today but has been delayed!

Anyway, thanks for stopping by StampinByHannah today and I hope to see you again soon.

Happy Birthday with Forever Fern from Stampin’ Up!

I don’t know about you, but I definitely make more Birthday cards that any other kind, and so I love stamp sets that work well for this occasion. Forever Fern ticks that box for me, with some handy (non-birthday) sentiments, and a collection of pretty leaf-y images it is one of those Stamp Sets that has multiple uses.

Last week I needed a card for a neighbours birthday, and I wanted something classic, but fun, and so I pulled out Forever Fern and a collection of bright coloured inks and had a play!

Using Coastal Cabana, Magenta Madness, Pretty Peacock, and Seaside Spray, I stamped a collection of leaves, which were then die cut with the coordinating Forever Flourishing dies. This card was really simple to put together, but because of the embossed panel and die cut layers it looks really complicated.

The sentiment is stamped using the Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set, and the die cut using the Rectangle Stitched Dies.

For a finishing touch I added one of the Gold Hoop Embellishments and a trio of Gilded Gems

Whale of a time Card for the Global Design Project

Hello! So, I’ve been trying to spend a little more time in my craft room recently, which I have to say, isn’t difficult as it’s been a much under used space in my house in 2020. Crafting has always been my escape, and I’ve really needed that recently, but have really struggled to find anything to create. So I turned to an old faithful; the Global Design Project, and used their challenge for this week as my starting point.

This week’s challenge is to use a card by one of their Design Team members as inspiration. The card was stunning, and I chose to take the card layout; basically using the card as a sketch for a new one.

Love card using Whale of a Time and Whale Done from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

I’ve been really enjoying the current selection of Designer Series Papers from Stampin’ Up! and the Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper is no exception. For all this paper is a little more ‘theme-y’ that I would normally select, the patterns actually translate really well in small sections and aren’t all too fish-y. There are two separate pieces of the Designer Series Paper on this card; a small strip, and a 2″ punched circle.

I’m also really enjoying adding textures to my projects at the moment, and this card has a panel of embossed card stock using the coordinating Embossing Folder, as well as a piece of ribbon. When I’m embossing white cardstock, I tend to use the Thick Whisper White, just because it is slightly heavier than the standard and therefore gives a really crisp embossed finish.

Cute Love Whale Card using Whale Done from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The stamped Whale comes from the matching Whale Done stamp set. To get the ombre coloured effect I inked the stamp in Pool Party ink, and then added a hint of Shaded Spruce ink using a sponge.

This card is finished with a die cut seaweed from the Smooth Sailing dies.

Curvy Celebrations Blog Hop with the Pootlers!

Join the Number 1 Stampin' Up! Team in the UK

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah and to the Pootlers Team Curvy Celebrations Blog Hop!

I LOVE being a part of this team, we have such fun together. This past week we’ve taken part in a Curvy Celebrations focused event, and so I thought that we should share some of our Curvy creations with you. I’m having a great time creating with the Quite Curvy bundle, and can’t wait to show you even more inspiration!

Once you’ve checked out my project, scroll to the bottom of this post for links to heaps more inspirational crafty projects using the Curvy Celebrations products.

This card was inspired by my very talented friend Verity, who made a really lovely card using the leaf stamp and a blue ink. I am still very much enjoying Misty Moonlight, and so this card was born!

The leave boarder stamp is stamped onto Fluid 100 watercolour paper and heat embossed in White, before I watercoloured the image with Misty Moonlight. I love this technique, but I know it can be a bit intimidating, do let me know if you’d like a Facebook Live tutorial on how I do it.

The Designer Series Paper is taken from the 2020-2022 In Colour stack, and I die cut the edge to add an extra detail. The paper is also layered over some more stamping, and the rough cut sentiment piece.

I almost left this card at that, but it just didn’t feel complete. So, I went hunting through my embellishment stash and came up with these pretty wooden leaves, and In Colour enamel dots.

Hello! Long time no see!

Oh dear, I’ve done it again haven’t I?! Dropped the ball on crafting and blogging… I have good reason, in that I am now 38 weeks pregnant, and so the last couple of months have been taken up with preparing for the new baby, finishing work, and just generally trying to stay awake!

This of course means that my blog and Stampin’ Up! have taken a bit of a back seat, and I’m not promising any regular content for the time being (although I do hope to get on Facebook Live at some point this week). However, I am still here, and my online store is still very much open.

What have we missed?

Well, there are currently 2 fabulous offers on with Stampin’ Up!

Joy to the World Paper Pumpkin

I’m sure you are by now familiar with these occasional kit offerings we get from Stampin’ Up! This time we get a fun Christmas themed box of goodies to make 8 stunning Christmas Cards, along with a lovely Photopolymer stamp set that you can use for years to come.

As usual Paper Pumpkin kits are while stocks last, but include all of the goodies you need to make the project (with the exception of a clear block), and so are a great way to craft quickly, or on the go.

While I’m talking about Paper Pumpkin, the last kit we had… you remember the Box of Sunshine one… is now available on the Clearance rack at 25% off!

Curvy Celebration Bundles!

Ok, so the other offer from Stampin’ Up! is the fabulous set of bundles, which is part Christmas and part early release from the January-June catalogue!

This is a two stamp set, die set and Designer Series Paper combination, with one of the stamps and papers being Christmas themed. However, its the Quite Curvy Stamp set and coordinating Curvy Dies that I am absolutely loving at the moment and I think are an absolute must have!

On Saturday this week I have a blog post going live as part of a team Blog Hop showcasing heaps of inspiration using these fab goodies, so do check back then for more!

Pootlers Blog Hop | Merry Christmas with Trimming the Town

Join the Number 1 Stampin' Up! Team in the UK

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah and to the Pootlers Blog Hop for the August-December 2020 Mini Catalogue. Gosh, I feel like autumn winter has hit us early this year, but then I suppose that that also means that 2020 will end sooner rather than later, which can only be a good thing right?!

Anyway, I’ve got a fun Christmas card for you today for the team blog hop. I have been loving the Trimming the Town suite of products in this latest catalogue. The stamp set, dies and Designer Series Paper just coordinate so perfectly (like, the dies cut out the Designer Series Paper!!!!), and using Stampin’ Blends to colour the houses has just been making my heart happy.

Merry Christmas Card using Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

This card is actually Poppy Parade, but you can’t really see much of it as the whole card from is covered with a piece of Designer Series Paper cut to 14.8 x 13.5 cm. The paper is scored at 10.5 cm and then folded back to give this pop of people down the right hand side.

The main focus though is that circle embellishment. I cut two circles; 1 in Poppy Parade and 1 in Whisper White, and then further die cut the Whisper White one using one of the dies in the Home Together dies to create a sort of snow drift effect.

Then I stamped two of the houses and a tree from the Coming Home stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured them using Stampin’ Blends.

I haven’t done any fancy Blend colouring here, rather just adding a layer of the lighter tone of the colour over the whole area, and the picking out the areas that could be in shadow with a single line of the darker tone. I love that Stampin’ Blends now come in pairs, so you always have the perfect colour partners when either basic colouring like this, or doing more complicated Blending!

The sentiment is stamped in Poppy Parade and is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp set which you can find in the Annual catalogue.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, check out more of the team’s creations using the buttons below

Christmas Gleaming Facebook Live Replay

Oh gosh, sorry this blog post is a bit later than usual. This past week my pregnancy tiredness has kicked back in and I’ve struggled to do much in the evenings. We spent yesterday at a birthday party, and then have had lunch out today, so this is the first real chance I’ve had to sit down and blog.

This week’s Facebook Live was so much fun! We created a fun card using Christmas Gleaming. I love this set, its a great mix of traditional Christmas but with a modern twist, and I was so pleased that it’s come back for another year! I’ve also got a fun Kit Class using it… more on that in a minute!

Quick Watercolour Christmas Card using Christmas Gleaming from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

One of the things I love about this set is how versatile it is. It looks great just simply stamped, or you can take it one step further with a wash of watercolour, or some heat embossing, and there are images in there that are lovely coloured with Stampin’ Blends too!

Christmas Gleaming Kit Class…

I’ve not released one of these for a while, but I love doing kits and classes! One of my goals for the next 12 months is to do things that I really enjoy, particularly when it come to Stampin’ Up! and that includes Facebook Lives and Online Classes. I would LOVE to be able to say these are going to be super regular, but its more likely that they will be alternative months, or when I find a stamp set that I really LOVE and can’t put down.

This kit class though is so much fun! I’ve designed 6 exclusive cards, using Christmas Gleaming, that you will only see if you grab this class!

The Kit includes:

  • Christmas Gleaming Stamp set
  • A Quarter Pack of the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper
  • 6 card bases, envelopes and layers you need to create the projects
  • A complete set of instructions
  • and a special gift from me to you!

This class costs £25, plus £3.50 for postage, and is available in the UK. I will also be releasing the PDF instructions for sale in a few weeks if you live in the rest of the world.

To sign up for class, just complete the form below, before the 16th September 2020.

I use PayPal to process payments, but you don’t need a PayPal account just a credit or debit card, but all the details of how to pay will be included in your Welcome email.

Inspire.Create.Challenge #077 | Alternative Colours with Forever Fern

So, today’s Inspire.Create.Challenge is a fabulous colour combination, and one that almost had me pulling Painted Poppies off my stamp shelves. But then I spotted Forever Fern, and I just knew what I wanted to make.

I’ve made a heap of cards with Forever Fern now, but they’ve all been very green! But I’ve seen some lovely cards using different colours with it recently, and although this still has green in it, its less green than some of the other combinations I have used. I do have an idea in my head of using pinks… but I’ll save that for another day.

Each of the colours is stamped off before stamping onto the card, just so it’s not super bright, and the stamping isn’t perfect, but I really like the effect.

The Forever Fern stamp set does have its own coordinating dies, but instead of reaching for those today, I’ve used the Tasteful Labels instead. These two are layered together in the packet, and I really like the look, and it’s translated really well into card stock.

The backing label is in Poppy Parade, along with the stamping, with the aim of moving away from the green. I almost added some sparkles to this card, but I’ve kept it simple in the end.

Don’t forget to pop over to the Inspire.Create blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s creations before adding your own makes using Poppy Parade, Rich Razzleberry and Mossy Meadow
