Today’s card was totally inspired by the ever talented Debbie Hughes. Debbie does wonderful things with Watercolour, and her cards are always stunning and her recent watercolour butterfly card is no exception. For all Debbie works with another companies products, I could just see Butterfly Gala in her creation, and so just HAD to give it a bash!
Each butterfly is stamped in Staz-on ink onto a panel of Watercolour card stock. Because of the texture I use my Stamparatus for this job so that I can repeat stamp and get a clear image. I think each butterfly took 3 or 4 goes to get as bold an outline as I wanted.
Then each butterfly was loosely watercoloured. A single colour for each butterfly, Melon Mambo, Blackberry Bliss and Blueberry Bushel, and some coloured splatter added over the top.
Then, once the watercolour was dry, I added an ink blended boarder of Crumb Cake ink around the piece with a sponge. I LOVE the texture this creates on the watercolour paper, so pretty!
To finish the sentiment, also taken from Butterfly Gala, is stamped onto a scrap of Blackberry Bliss card stock and heat embossed in White, some loops of Silver Metallic thread and a handful of sequins scattered across too.

Well, this week’s Inspire.Create.Challenge is a bright and bold colour combination that I have to admit had me a little stumped at first. However, I do love the card that resulted!
As always with the Inspire.Create colour combinations we are allowed to add neutral colours and so I’ve added Basic Black to really made these colours POP!
The Accented Blooms stamp set is carrying forward into the new catalogue and since I’ve cleared by Stamp Shelves of items that are leaving us in the Last Chance list its really jumped out at me at a set I haven’t used for a while. Here it’s stamped in Stazon ink onto watercolour paper and then watercoloured with the colours from the challenge.
The sentiment is also from the same stamp set and while it does coordinate with the Tailored Tag punch, I have hand cut it on this occasion.
This is where I got stuck! How to finish the card. In the end I plumped for a panel of Poppy Parade card stock embossed using the Country Floral Embossing Folder and a bow of retiring Black Shimmer Ribbon

I am forever inspired by the work of other demonstrators. Last week I shared THIS card inspired by a fellow demonstrator on Instagram, and today I though I would share another card I made after seeing THIS fun card using the Stained Glass Technique from my Demonstrator friend Stacey Marsh.
This technique is so fun, and so simple! In fact, I know I’ve shared it before, but this time I’ve made a subtle but significant change.
To start the Stained Glass Technique, heat emboss the large butterfly stamp from Beautiful Day onto a piece of Vellum using White Stampin’ Emboss powder. Then, on the reverse of the vellum, colour the butterflies using Stampin’ Blends. Last time I used Stampin’ Write Markers; which works just as well, however Blends dry quicker and therefore the risk of smudging the ink is much reduced.
To make the Blackberry Bliss Blend Colouring really POP I the mounted the Vellum onto a piece of Whisper White, and then added this to a card base of Blackberry Bliss.
The sentiment is also from Beautiful Day, and has been heat embossed in White onto Blackberry Bliss. To complete the card, I wanted to add something extra, and in rummaging through my stash of embellishments I found the Clear Epoxy Dots and thought they would be perfect!

I mentioned last week that Stampin’ Up! are releasing one of their fabulous Paper Pumpkin kits in the UK this month, and I thought it about time I shared some more details with you!
What is Paper Pumpkin?
Paper Pumpkin is a crafty subscription box offered by Stampin’ Up! in the USA. Each month they release a new kit to make around 12 of something either cards, or 3D items, pillow boxes, gift tags and more!
This month the kit is available in the UK for the very first time and has been designed specially by Shelli the Co-Founder of Stampin’ Up! and so the kit is Hugs from Shelli!
The Hugs from Shelli kit includes 12 fabulous cards that are suitable for all occasions. They are super pretty and feature these lovely bird and floral images.
So, What comes in the Kit?
Stampin’ Up! haven’t shared the exact contents of the Hugs from Shelli Kit, however, we do know that the kit will make 12 cards; 3 of each of 4 Designs and comes with an exclusive photopolymer stamp set, ink spot, and adhesives as well as all the card stock and layers required to complete your projects. Oh, and 12 envelopes so you can send them too!
Do I need anything else?
Yes and no. So, the kit is a complete project kit, you don’t even need to add glue! BUT it doesn’t have a clear block so I would suggest you add a D sized clear block if you don’t already have one.
I would LOVE to think that this means that the kit might come to us more regularly here in the UK, the only way of doing this is to make sure that Stampin’ Up! sell out of the kit really quickly! So, I would LOVE you to order this on the 15th May!

Have you checked out all the fabulous Last Chance products yet? There are HEAPS of fabulous goodies that we are saying goodbye to at the end of this month, and I thought I would write down my Top 10 items that I am going to really miss.
DISCLAIMER: I wrote this post a couple of weeks ago, and so some items may have already sold out. Please do note that all items in the Last Chance lists are While Stocks Last, when they are gone they are gone!
10. Clear and Wood Mount Stamps:
One of the confusing parts of this years Last Chance list is that not all the stamps are actually going, but the format that they are in IS. So, if you check THIS PDF, you can see the highlighted items that are leaving us in Clear or Wood mount BUT they ARE in the new catalogue but with the fabulous new Cling mount versions!
9. Bundles!
So, another thing that can be a little confusing is the bundles that are retiring, but stamps that aren’t! So, bundles are a fabulous way of getting coordinating products, where you get the stamps and dies or punch together, under one item number, and you get to save 10%. With retiring bundles, it means that the 10% discount is leaving us for those coordinating products, but not necessarily the stamps / dies / punches etc.
For example; The Butterfly Gala bundle is in the retiring list, but both the Butterfly Gala stamp set AND the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch are in the new catalogue. However, currently if you buy the bundle you’ll save 10%, but if you wait until June you’ll be paying full price for both items…. moral of the story, grab your bundles NOW!
8. Big Shot Accessories
I am SO going to miss these! With the Big Shot leaving us in June, all the accessories are going as well; so that is the Magnetic Platform, Embossing Mats, Cutting Plates, Precision Base Plate etc.
Now, I will be continuing to use my Big Shot… it’s certainly not about to leave my craft room, but I will be stocking up on the accessories before they leave!
7. 2017 – 2019 In Colours
In Colours are refreshed every 2 years, and so the 5 that were released in 2017 (That’s; Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, and Tranquil Tide) will leave us at the end of the month. In fact some items have already SOLD OUT!
So, anything that uses one of these colours is due to retire…. including; ink pads, re-inkers, card stock, ribbons, Stampin’ Write Markers and more! Grab them while you still have the chance!
6. Envelope Punch Board
Yes… it’s retiring at the end of May! Goodbye to the Envelope Punch Board, and the Gift Bag Board too. I am so sad to see these go, they are absolute crafting staples and won’t be going very far from my craft room! I’ve shared loads of projects using the Envelope Punch Board over the years… why not check some of them out below;
5. Circle Punches
Now, this is another sad to leave item! There are a few of the circle punches that are leaving too. These are SO handy to have for some quick crafting where you don’t want to get out the die cutting machine, or worse attempt to fussy cut!
4. Share What You Love Designer Series Paper
All of the current Designer Series Papers are leaving us! There at 19 brand new designs coming, BUT if there is a pack of paper that you LOVE I would be grabbing it now, along with the coordinating Card Stock too!
3. Christmas Pines
This has been my Go To Christmas stamp set for a couple of years, it has some GORGEOUS fonts, pretty images and coordinating dies… and it’s time to say Goodbye to it! Last Chance to grab it now…
2. Floral Phrases and Detailed Floral Thinlits
These are my absolute GO TO for Wedding cards… and because of that it is not leaving my craft room! However, these two coordinating items aren’t in the new catalogue either and so need to be grabbed sooner rather than later!
1. Petal Palette…
This almost made me cry when I realised that it had gone! I have LOVED playing with the Petal Palette stamp set and the coordinating dies. I love it so much that I couldn’t not make another card using it before it retires….
This fun card uses the fabulous Floating Frames technique. I am hoping to get a tutorial filmed soon for how I do my own version of this (and not using the very expensive Press and Seal!)
What are your Top 10 Last Chance items? Don’t forget to put your orders in soon before they sell out!

I love a simple card, and this card came together in minutes using the Springtime Impressions dies. I am so happy that these are carrying forward into the new Stampin’ Up! Annual catalogue, along with the coordinating stamp set; Abstract Impressions. However they are currently available as a bundle that is retiring, so if you want to save 10% and get the bundle price you need to do so before the end of the month.
For all the butterfly die is quite intricate it’s not one I’ve ever had an issue die cutting. Here I’ve simply die cut it from a scrap of Whisper White and adhered in in the middle to a piece of the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper.
The sentiment is taken from the coordinating Abstract Impressions stamp set and has been heat embossed in White onto a scrap of Basic Black card stock. I love sentiments like this, they really pop on a card.
I’m sure you could add more layers, ribbon and embellishment to this card, but I wanted to keep things pretty simple today. I would love to hear what else you would add, let me know in the comments below!

I have been in a bit of a creative slump again recently, probably because I’ve spent the first 2 weeks of my Maternity Leave endlessly scrolling through Instagram (not helpful!). However, during my scrolling I have come across a bunch of inspiring cards, and this card was inspired by one of those. I wish I could remember who made the original, but for some reason I didn’t save it.
Rooted in Nature Encouragement Card
I haven’t had Rooted in Nature off the shelf in a while, and its a shame because it is just lovely! The stamp set is currently available bundled with the coordinating dies to save you 10%, but this will end on 3rd June, so I would be reaching for it sooner rather than later to get that discount!
One of the things I have noticed with my scrolling is that I am totally drawn to cards with lots of layers, and this card is no exception! With the embossed background and then layers of stamped, embossed and die cut pieces.
The sentiments in the Rooted in Nature stamp set are lovely, and so I’ve selected this one for our Blog Highlight Encouragement theme! I might just have to pop this card into my hospital bag for the lovely midwives… along with a big box of biscuits!
If you love this card as much as I do I would LOVE it if you would vote for me over on Kylie’s blog, and I hope to see you again soon

Over recent weeks the ‘Floating Frame’ card has gone somewhat viral on Facebook and Pinterest! I LOVE the idea, but I have to say I am not over keen on spending a fortune on Glad Press and Seal to get the technique to work. So, I had a think about how I could do this technique with things that are already in my craft room…. and hey, Washi Tape to the rescue!
I also couldn’t miss the chance to use the retiring Petal Palette stamp set one last time before the end of May, although I can already see some new stamp sets that are coming in the upcoming Annual catalogue that will work just as well.
This card has a few steps, and while I rest up and wait for baby to arrive I don’t have the energy to film a video for you. Instead, I thought I would break it down into steps…
How to create a Floating Frame Card…
Stamp the Petal Palette floral corner stamp in Memento Ink and use Blends to colour. I’ve used the Blackberry Bliss due and Granny Apple Green, with a hint of Flirty Flamingo here.
Use the coordinating dies to cut out the stamped images.
Then, using your grid paper as a guide, arrange the floral corners into a sort of loose frame shape.
Select 2 of the Rectangle Stitched Dies (I would suggest using two that aren’t particularly close in size) and arrange them on top of the die cuts, creating a frame.
Take a long-ish piece of Washi Tape and stick it onto your arm or clothes to remove some of the stick. Then take small pieces off this long tape and stick the dies to the die cuts.
Run the floral corners and stitched dies through your die cutting machine.
Before removing the Washi Tape, remove the pieces of die cut outside of the frame and add Dimensionals to the frame pieces.
Adhere to your card front, and then remove your Washi Tape and dies.
The sentiment is take from a different stamp set; Stitched All Around (which is going forward into the new catalogue), stamped in Blackberry Bliss to coordinate with the Floral corners and card base.
