Pootles Papercraft Team Blog Hop project using Special Reason from Stampin' Up! UK

Pootles Stampin' Up! Team Blog Hop

Hello everyone! Wow I am so proud of all the girls this month. As you may know I organise and run this blog hop, and we hop as a team to celebrate the launch of a new Stampin’ Up! catalogue. We haven’t hopped since September last year, and with the start of the year being so busy I wasn’t expecting to have such a big hop…. well these girls are awesome, we have 20 lovely ladies sharing their projects with you today. Check out the end of this blog post to find a list of all the ladies and links to their blogs, please check them out and leave them some comment love!

Pootles Papercraft Team Blog Hop project using Special Reason from Stampin' Up! UK

I thought I would challenge myself to use a stamp and die set that I haven’t spent much time with, but also to use a new (to me) colour combination. So I grabbed the Special Reason stamp and die bundle, and the colours Night of Navy, Emerald Envy and Crushed Curry for this card.

Pootles Papercraft Team Blog Hop Spring Summer Catalogue using Special Reason from Stampin' Up! UK

I have added an extra stamp set in here, I recently found a home in my craft room for Touches of Texture, but I hadn’t had chance to use it either. So I’ve added a splatter of Crushed Curry, behind the die cuts and sentiment.

Before I go, I would also love to remind you that we are in the middle of Sale-a-bration! and so can get a FREE Sale-a-bration item everytime you spend £45 in a single order, and if you grabbed everything I used to make this card you would get to pick TWO freebies! Yay!

I hope you have enjoyed this project, now please do click on to the see the other projects in our blog hop!

Artful Stampers and Pootlers Blog Hop | Merriest Wishes

Cute Christmas Card using Merriest Wishes from Stampin' Up! UK

15193646_10153968882571603_316743053547173555_nI LOVE taking part in events; blog hops, challenges, Pinterest Boards, Facebook Groups, anywhere I get to share my love of stamping with other people, and when my team leader Sam mentioned this blog hop with the fabulous Artful Stampers I just couldn’t pass this up!

Merriest Wishes Bauble tag Christmas shaker Card using merriest wishes from Stampin' Up! UK

I am such a sucker for non-traditional Christmas colours; I’m just not a massive fan of Red and Green (although I’m sure if you visit my blog regularly you might not think so!) and I much prefer a cooler Christmas; blues, purples and Silver. This card uses the non-traditional colours of Island Indigo and Sahara Sand (which I’m sure don’t scream Christmas at you!) along with a touch of gold, to create a cool Christmas look. I have been playing around with the Merriest Wishes bundle for a few weeks, and am loving making quick and easy tags with the dies, but using them on an acutal card has been a little tricky.

Cute Christmas Card using Merriest Wishes from Stampin' Up! UK

I couldn’t pass the opportunity to make a shaker card using these fabulous dies, how gorgeous is that intricate bauble?! and it was really easy to put together;

  1. Die cut 4 tags; two solid ones in Whisper White, one intricate one in Island Indigo, and a further solid one out of Window Sheet
  2. Add glue to the back of the Island Indigo tag, and add one of the solid Whisper White ones to the back, once this is dry use the circle die in the set to cut the hole through the middle
  3. Adhere the Window Sheet tag using Tear & Tape, and then add a ring of Foam Adhesive Strip.
  4. Stamp the sentiment in the centre of the other Whisper White tag, and cover with a heap of Gold Sequins (I’ve used sequins taken from the Gold Sequin Trim!)
  5. Remove the backing from the Foam Adhesive and layer onto the Whisper White tag, ensuring all the sequins are trapped side, and there you have a fabulous shaker bauble!

I have LOVED taking part in this blog hop, and cannot wait to see what everyone else has made! Click the BLUE button to hop along with me.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge | November 2016

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge using Frosted Medallions from Stampin' Up! UK

Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge

Oh yes, it’s the 3rd Saturday of the month, which only means one thing around here…. It’s time for the Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge!

This month’s sketch was created by the gorgeous Anna Krol, and I cannot wait to see what everyone makes of it!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge November 2016

I think this sketch would be a perfect opportunity to use those fabulous Stitched Shapes Framelits (and I am sure that there will be a few of the ladies who have done just that) however, seeing as they haven’t found a home in my crafty office yet, and I don’t have any oval dies either, I’ve switched things up a bit, and swapped it for some stamping instead!

The Best is Yet to Come sketch challenge card using Frosted Medallions from Stampin' Up! UK

This card is almost a one layer number actually… thinking about it how cute would it be on some 2 x 2″ tags for Christmas!

A few weeks ago at a Stampin’ Up! event I was reminded of this technique, which is so simple that it probably doesn’t even have name! Stamping with your clear blocks! Here I have inked up my Clear Block (G) in Pool Party, Marina Mist and Watermelon Wonder to create this cool textured, layered stamping look.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge using Frosted Medallions from Stampin' Up! UK

The cute doily stamp is from Frosted Medallions, as is the sentiment, and both are stamped in Island Indigo. I almost left it there, but it just needed a little something, and I did think about adding some sparkle, Wink of Stella or Rhinestones, but then no, a simple spritz of Island Indigo and Tangerine Tango will do.

Pootles Blog Hop Autumn Winter Stampin Up! Catalogue Christmas Pines

bog hop-001

Hello! Welcome to our fabulous Pootler’s Team Blog Hop! We have 19 wonderful ladies blogging together today to show you heaps of great project ideas using new products from the Stampin’ Up! Autumn / Winter catalogue. Please use the Next and Previous buttons to navigate to the next blog in the chain, and remember to leave some comment love on your travels!

Simple Christmas Card using Christmas pines from Stampin' Up! UkI have been having so much fun play with the Present and Pine-cones Suite from the new catalogue (page 18-22), and am totally in love with the idea of an Emerald Envy Christmas this year! I am not usually a green and red sort of person, I love a cool Christmas of blues, purples and silver, but this colour might just have me converted!

The Suite includes the Christmas Pines stamp and die bundle, as well as Designer Series Paper, Washi Tape, Ribbons, a great embossing folder and some super cute mini pine-cone embellishments.

Pootles Christmas Card using Stampin' Up! Uk Christmas PinesThe front panel of this card was embossed twice using the Pine Bough Embossing Folder to create an almost fully embossed panel. Really this card is pretty simple, with a few die cuts and some copper embossing (more of that on Monday!), but I think this would be a super easy card to make a few of for friends and colleagues for Christmas

Pinkies Blog Hop | Shadow Box Card

Pinkies Team Blog Hop using Christmas Pines from Stampin' Up! UK

blog hop logo (1)Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We’re showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using products from the new Stampin’ Up!® Autumn/Winter Seasonal Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!

Wow, I’m loving this new Autumn / Winter catalogue, there are just so many great products and ideas. I thought I would make a special card for the Pinkies Blog Hop this time. I’m usually a pretty simple card maker, but this style of card has caught my eye recently (during my hours of scrolling through Pinterest!) and I just had to have a go at making my own!

Christmas Pines Shadow Box Card using Stampin' Up! UK Products

My favourite bundle in this years catalogue is Christmas Pines; I just love the collection of sentiments and the fabulous detailed die cuts. I will admit that you will be seeing a whole lot of this stamp set in the coming weeks, but that’s a story for another day!

Pinkies Team Blog Hop using Christmas Pines from Stampin' Up! UK

Measurements:

Card base: Basic Black card stock, 10.5 x 22 cm, scored on the long side at 10.5 and 11.5 cm. You will also need a piece of card stock that measures 6.5 x 6.5 cm

Using the scoring blade on you Stampin’ Trimmer, draw a square on the front of your card base; line up the card stock at 2 cm and score from 2 cm down to 8.5 cm – do this on all 4 sides of the card front.

Using a ruler, draw  diagonal lines from corner to corner of the square you have just created. The use these lines as a guide to score another square 1 cm smaller than the previous. You should now have one square inside the other. Then, using a ruler and a  craft knife, cut along the diagonal lines. Fold on the score lines, creating your shadow area in the middle of your card.

For this card, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on the 6.5 cm x 6.5 cm card stock using the new Emerald Envy Glitter Stampin’ Emboss powder before adhering it to the centre of the card.

Christmas Card Shadow Box using Christmas Pines from Stampin' Up!

The problem with this style of card is that it doesn’t fit or fold flat into a standard envelope. So I have also created a box for it to go in.

Measurements:

Box Base; 14 x 14 cm, scored on all four sides at 1.5 cm

Box Lid; 13.2 x 13.2 cm, scored on all four sides at 1 cm.

Both the card and the box are finished with the Presents and Pinecones Designer Series Paper and die cuts from the Christmas Pines bundle.

Thanks so much for stopping by, check out Anna’s blog and her fabulous projects by using the Next button.

Masked Note Cards set Featuring Love You Lots In Colours Dapper Denim Emerald Envy Sweet Sugarplum Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Up! UK

blog hop logo (1)

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We’re showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using products from the new Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!

Note cards featuring Love You Lots from Stampin' Up! UK

I am in love with this years new In-Colours! I thought I would share 4 of them here today, purely because my chosen stamp set only has 4 stamps! So, let me introduce you to; Sweet Sugarplum, Emerald Envy, Dapper Denim and Flirty Flamingo! The fifth colour is a beautiful orangey/peach called Peekaboo Peach, and I will be sharing a card featuring it on Saturday.

Dapper Demin Love you lots masking note card Stampin' Up! UK

I decided to make a set of note cards for today’s Pinkies Blog Hop, featuring a couple of my favourite stamp sets from the upcoming Annual Catalogue, as well as a technique I found recently whilst trawling through Pinterest – Masking using the fabulous Fine-Tip Glue Pen.

The Stamp set is called Love you Lots. I am head over heals for this one, super cute animals and a couple of sweet sentiments – I am sold! This is one of the new Hostess Exclusives launching on 1st June, and available to order when you host an event or spend over £150 in a single order. I

I first stamped the cute animals in Archival Basic Black ink and gave them a minute or two to dry before covering the stamped image with the Fine-Tip glue pen. The metal tip makes it super easy to ‘colour in’ the image, making sure that the whole image is covered. It takes a couple of hours to dry, I have used this technique on some cards that are going out with my catalogues this week and I left those over night, but a couple of hours is really all you need.

Emerald Envy Note Card featuring Love You Lots from Stampin' Up!Then once the image is dry, I stamped over them with another new stamp set; Playful Backgrounds. I’m loving this set too! 4 cool backgrounds that you can layer and extend. After stamping I also sponged more ink onto the corner of each piece, the ink that lands on the dry glue just wipes away as the glue acts as a resist, leaving the stamped critters white while the rest of the area is coloured.

Masked Note Cards set Featuring Love You Lots In Colours Dapper Denim Emerald Envy Sweet Sugarplum Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Up! UKHere is the complete set, as you can see I made a couple of boo-boos with the glue on the Ladybirds and the Hedgehogs, but they are still super cute! I will be sharing the other cards I made with the same technique next week after the arrive with my customers.

Have fun around the rest of the hop, I can’t wait to see what the other Pinkies have made!

Pootlers Blog Hop – Spring Summer edition!

Stampin' Up! UK Aged birthday card Blog Hop

bog hop-001

Hello! and welcome to another Pootler’s Blog Hop! I know, two hops in one month! we’ve all been super busy creating awesome projects for you this week, and I know the girls have all worked super hard, so please remember to leave everyone some comment love on your tour around the hop! You can hop forwards or backwards along the chain by using the ‘Next’ and ‘Previous’ buttons a the bottom of this post! Happy hopping!

I’m sure I mentioned this in a blog post recently that January is FULL of birthdays in our family, and this past week we had a super special one. James’ Great Nanny turned 95!!!! She is just the most awesome lady, and I need to make a super awesome card to go along with whatever rubbish James has bought her this year (I don’t usually give James gift buying responsibilities for such important events, however, I have been super crazy busy this week and just completely ran out of time!)

Stampin' Up! UK Aged birthday card Blog Hop

For such a big birthday Numbers are important! and so I grabbed for the brand new and completely lovely ‘Number of Years’ stamp set and die bundle for this one. The numbers are large enough to be the focal point of the card, and they have a lovely watercoloured effect too (my favourite!). Now, my memory says that Nanny loves green (but it may well be playing tricks on me) so I selected Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow, and Elegant Eggplant for a little contrast.

Stampin' Up! UK Number of years

In addition to the numbers the stamp set comes with some lovely sentiments, but I have kept it simple here with Happy Birthday. The die set also includes that great banner piece that coordinates with a couple of other stamp sets in the catalogue.

I did initially try to watcolour a background for this card, but something happened and it looked awful! So, I started again, with Shimmery White card stock and my collection of Stampin’ Sponges and added a mixture of Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow and Elegant Eggplant ink to the left hand side, before stamping over it with some of the floral stamps from the same stamp set.

Stampin' Up! UK Pootles blog hop

I could probably have stopped at this point, however, I had just received a brand new boxes of stamping goodies including the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush in Gold, and HAD to use it! So I flicked some of the gorgeous gold glitter across the card, before adding dots of Crystal Effects and a scattering of Jewel Rhinestones! Probably overkill but I don’t care! I love it!

Crazy Crafters and Pootler Blog Hop

Stampin' Up! UK Rose Wonder Card

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah on this wonderful Sunday. Today I’m blog hopping again, but this time with a wonderful group of demonstrators from Australia!

We are showcasing some awesome products from the new Spring / Summer catalogue (or the Occasions catalogue if your in Aus) and had a tough challenge set by the lovely Sam Hammond Donald (Pootles) to only use one stamp set / one die or punch / one ink / one card stock! I will admit to have slightly bent the rules and have added both Whisper White card stock and White Craft Ink!

I hope you have enjoyed the hop so far, and remember to hit the NEXT button at the end of this post to continue along your journey of inspiration!

Stampin' Up! UK Rose Wonder Blog Hop

I knew this stamp and die bundle was on my ‘Must Have’ list as soon as I spotted it in the catalogue back in November. I love an intricate die, and this set is just stunning. So, when it came time to design my ‘hop’ project, Rose Wonder was the stamp and die bundle of choice, and the obvious choice for card stock had to be Rose Red!

Stampin' Up! UK Rose Wonder Card

As I have already mentioned I have slightly bent the rules, and used two colours of ink. I stamped the Rose onto the Rose Red card base in White Craft ink, before adding a layer of Vellum. I also have to admit that this also isn’t quite the truth, as I also stamped the rose onto the Vellum in Memento Black ink, before colouring the leaves with Pear Pizzazz ink and one of my favourite tools – my Blender Pen!

The die cut is actually designed to be the other way around, but it fit my card design better this way. This die cut pops out of the die so easily when you’ve used the Precision Plate on your Big Shot machine. It’s even easier if you use the brand new Big Shot Die Brush too (more on that coming soon!).

Stampin' Up! UK Rose Wonder Wink of Stella

This card needed a couple of extra finishing touches; the sentiment is taken from the same stamp set and die cut with another one of the dies from the bundle. I’ve also added some (Pootle) loops of Gold Metallic Thread and a trio of Metal rimmed pearls. The card still needed an extra special something though and so I have added a touch of glitter with the Brand New Wink of Stella Glitter Brush in clear to the vellum behind the die cut. Trying to get a photograph of the sparkly glitter was a little tricky as it is so super fine, but I think I managed it in the end.

Hope you are enjoying the hop. I’m hopping along too to see what the wonderful Michelle Mills has created, lets go….

Pinkies Blog Hop | Pillow Box Note Card Collection

Stampin' Up! UK Watercolour Wings Note Card Collection

Blog hop logo

Welcome to another Pinkies Blog Hop! As it’s World Card Making Day today, we hope everyone will get some time to craft, and we’ve created some lovely projects to help inspire you to create your own beautiful card. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!

Stampin' Up! UK Watercolour Wings Note Card Collection

I hope you’re enjoying our hop today. This is my first Pinkies Blog Hop (and hopefully not my last!) and I wanted to create something that would describe my style of crafting for this event. There are so many great stamp sets in this years Annual catalogue that picking one favourite is incredibly difficult, but I think Watercolour Wings is probably one of my most used. Its such a easy set to use, although the effect looks complicated. The butterflies are stamped from 5 different stamps – 4 layering butterfly wings, and a body – and each one is stamped in one colour!

Stampin' Up! UK Pinkies Blog Hop World Card Making Day

So the first, most solid stamp is inked and stamped off onto scrap paper 3 times before being stamped onto the card stock, the next stamp is stamped off twice, the 3rd stamp is stamped off once, and the final image is stamped straight onto the butterfly to create a lovely layered image. These butterflies also coordinate with the Butterflies Thinlits Die set – which is awesome because fussy cutting isn’t my friend!

The note cards themselves are 3 x 3″ cards in four of the most recent In-Colours; Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush and Delightful Dijon. Complete with a layer of the same card stock measuring 2 3/4″ square, matching butterfly and sentiment piece.

The Thank you sentiment is taken from Something to Say, stamped in Tip Top Taupe and punched out with the Washi Label punch. I found the punch a little long for the sentiment so inserted the punched piece back into the punch for a bit of a trim, before mounting on a full sized punch of the Washi Label.

Stampin' Up! UK World Card Making Day 2015

I couldn’t finish this project without making a pocket for the cards to go in, and without using my favourite item from the Autumn/Winter catalogue this year – The Pillow Box Die of course! I have used the die so much in the past few weeks, I’m sure regular readers of my blog are sick of the sight of it! Here I have created a Pillow Pocket by only putting the die off the edge of my card stock before cutting, so only one end has the pillow box closure. Finished with a belly band of Gold Designer Series Paper from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack and another one of those butterflies in Tip Top Taupe.

Oh, and of course no set of note cards would be complete without some envelopes, so I used the same Designer Series Paper to create 4 envelopes with the Envelope Punch Board.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop!

Pootlers Blog Hop | Decorating your Christmas Table

Stampin' Up! UK pillow box Christmas favour

bog hop-001

Hello! Welcome to the 3rd Pootler’s Team Blog Hop! I am so pleased you could join us! Everyone has worked so hard to create wonderful projects for you, please follow the hop around and leave comments on the fabulous blogs to come to.

Thanks

I have to admit that although I have been organising this hop for a couple of months, I only managed to actually create my project on Monday! but, never mind, I’m here now

Stampin' Up! UK pillow box designer series paper

If you are one of my regular readers you will know that my box of pre-order goodies sat lonely in my office for 3 weeks while I went off and got married. Coming back from honeymoon and getting back into crafting has taken a few weeks, and several days of playing with the new products, but this pillow box was one of the first things I made. I love cute packaging, but making my own boxes isn’t something that comes naturally to me, so this pillow box die is awesome! Anyway, when it came time to make my Blog Hop project (a littler later than planned) I looked around my craft room for inspiration and came across this little box, and I fell in love all over again!

Stampin' Up! UK pillow box Christmas favour

I made a second pillow box from Cherry Cobbler card stock this time, using the Seasons of Cheer Designer Series Paper as an accent. I will admit that the trees were a bit of an after thought, but they tie the pillow box favour into the rest of the project

Stampin' Up! UK Christmas Table Pootles Blog Hop

If I ever get a Christmas day at home, this is totally what my table is going to look like!

Stampin' Up! UK pillow box cutlery holder

The pillow box die is really versatile. Here I cut the tabs off one end, to create a cutlery holder. I adore this Designer Series Paper, I believe it was hand painted by one of the fabulously talented ladies at the Stampin’ Up! Home Office in Utah, and it is stunning! This tree paper has some wonderful Poinsettias on the reverse that are going to have to find their way onto the centre stage of a project or two! This pillow box is finished with a belly band of Vellum and Silver Glimmer Paper, with a tag and three vellum flowers punched from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack

Stampin' Up! UK Christmas tag

Christmas just wouldn’t be with a tag. Last year I created 12 Tag of Christmas, and I have been thinking about doing something similar again this year, but I’m not sure yet. (Whatever I do will have to start soon though!). This tag features the same Designer Series Paper, Vellum and Glimmer paper combination, with those cute Itty Bitty flowers and the Love Peace Joy Stamp from A Little Something (the stamp set that comes bundled with the pillow box die).

Actually I can’t believe I have got to the end of my blog post without mentioning the Stamps! Shocking!

Hope you enjoy the rest of the hop, hop forward and check out what the wonderful Caroline has created this time.

See you again soon!
