Watercoloured Just Because Card using Remarkable You from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday Just Because with Remarkable You from Stampin’ Up!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday

This week’s Thoughtful Thursday is one of those cards that you can batch make and save, ready for you to pull out at a moments notice. I have even left the sentiment off, so that I can add an appropriate one just before I sent it.

How to make a simple watercoloured Just Because card using Remarkable You from Stampin' Up!

This card uses the Remarkable You stamp set. I LOVE this stamp set for pretty sympathy cards, wedding cards, and Just Because type occasions. The images are pretty florals and this lovely Leaf print.  Here it is stamped in Basic Grey Archival ink onto Whisper White card stock. Then I took an dry-ish Aqua-Painter and watercoloured the leaves with Pear Pizzazz ink. You can find another fun watercolour idea with this stamp set HERE!

Fun and fresh Just because card using Remarkable You from Stampin' Up! for Thoughtful Thursday

The background is dry embossed using the Hexagons 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for some added interest. I LOVE these dynamic folders, they emboss beautifully! Here I did spritz the card stock with a good amount of water before I ran it through the Big Shot. This makes the card stock a little ply-able and gives an even deeper emboss.

So pretty

StampinByHannah How to make a quick card with Eclectic Expressions from Stampin’ Up!

Stamping Techniques Series

I have a quick and fun video tutorial for you today featuring the GORGEOUS Eclectic Expressions stamp set. I am completely in LOVE with this set… its watercolour effect and its designed for stamp layering… what’s not to love?! But also it’s completely FREE with a £45 order during Sale-a-bration!

Stamp Layering Video Tutorial with Eclectic Expressions from Stampin' Up!

This technique is super easy to do. It just takes a little time as each stamp needs to be stamped in a different colour each time… so having your Stampin’ Scrub or a micro-fibre cloth handy is very useful! These stamps layer together to create some really pretty effects, and I know that you could make this card several times over and each time they would look different

I started out making a super bright card, but half way through the video I thought it would also look pretty in neutrals… so I tried that out too… which is your favourite? let me know in the comments below!

Thoughtful Thursday | Love you Eclipse Card with Heart Happiness

Guys Valentines Day card using Heart Happiness from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday Love you Eclipse Card with Heart Happiness

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday

Ok, so this is one of those times that I am more than a little late… I’m blaming the day job, but really its because my organisation system has gone out of the window, my head has been in the shed, and I quite simply forgot! Today I’m sharing the card I made for Valentines!

I could have course let it go and missed the card off my blog, but it’s so damn pretty that I just HAD to share it with you.

How to make a masculine Love You card with Heart Happiness from Stampin' Up!

This card was totally inspired by the lovely Dena Rekow over at The Creativity Cave. The hearts are from the Heart Happiness stamp set, after each one was stamped I added a wash of water to create this pretty Faux Watercolour look. The hearts are stamped onto Shimmery White card stock, which is just perfect for watercolour techniques, PLUS it makes your projects sparkle!

Can you believe that this is also my very first Eclipse card (talk about late to the party!)… This is such a fun technique! It is a fun way of adding a subtle sentiment, by die cutting your word from your stamped piece, and then inserting it back but popped up onto dimensionals! (and what is even better…. that YOU die is FREE during Sale-a-bration! Awesome!)

Thoughtful Thursday Love You card with Heart Happiness from Stampin' Up!

The rest of the sentiment is stamped with the Labeler Alphabet stamp set, and a hint of splatter added to find the card.

Thoughtful Thursday | DIY Colouring Book using Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper

How to make a DIY Colouring Book using Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper

StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday DIY Colouring Book using Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday

I have a quick and fun Thoughtful Thursday project for you this week… a DIY Colouring Book. Adult colouring is such a big trend at the moment, and it’s always handy to be able to pull out a colouring book for a child at a moments notice… these are perfect for your handbag, ready for that quiet moment waiting for an appointment, or entertaining a child at dinner.

How to make a DIY Colouring Book using Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper

The cover is a single piece of Designer Series Paper, this one is taken from Eastern Palace (because I LOVE Fresh Fig!) and I have added a stamped panel using Crafting Forever, and a ribbon to keep the book closed.

Measurements:

Book Cover: Designer Series Paper; 10 x 6-1/4″ (25 x 16 cm), scored on the long edge at 5″ (12.5 cm)

Colouring Pages; Just Add Colour Designer Series Paper; 6 pieces measuring 6 x 4-1/2″ (15 x 11.5 cm), score each piece at 1/2″ (1.5 cm) on the right hand side

To secure pages I simply stapled the pages together and then used strong adhesive tape (Tear & Tape, or Red Line tape would work well) to stick the pages into the cover.

How to make a DIY Colouring Book using Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper

The Just Add Colour Speciality Designer Series Paper is 12 sheets of 12 x 12″ card stock weight paper, all printed with lovely line images that are just begging to be coloured in! These would be great paired with Stampin’ Blends, Stampin’ Write Markers or Watercolour Pencils, which you could pop into one of the Stampin’ Up! spare cases to keep everything contained.

Watercolour Petal Palette Birthday Card

Pretty watercoloured birthday card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Watercolour Petal Palette Birthday Card

February is such a busy month for birthdays… in fact I have a birthday card every Tuesday from now probably until the middle of March! This weeks card is one I sent to James’ great Nanny in the middle of January for her 97th birthday. Nanny is such a big part of our family, and she has been unwell recently, so a super special card was in order. I know that she LOVED it… and kept pointing it out to people (Note to self; put my contact details on the next one!)

How to make a classy watercolour birthday card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

I shared part of this card over on my Instagram when I made it. I quite often share my creative process on my Insta-account, and you can find a heap of colour combinations on there too!

The flowers from Petal Palette are stamped in Sahara Sand ink onto Sahara Sand card stock for a tone on tone effect. Then I used the Rich Razzleberry and Sweet Sugarplum to colour the flowers, and Bermuda Bay and Emerald Envy for the leaves. This flower would look AMAZING using a no-line colouring technique… think I might have to have another go with that!

Quick and fun watercolour birthday card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The sentiment is taken from Birthday Blossoms, and is just a classic and simple birthday, stamped in Early Espresso and die cut with the dies that coordinate with Petal Palette.

This card is finished with a die cut branch, some Emerald Envy Splatter and Paper Pierced detailing around the edge.

Techniques | How to create a hard lines watercolour background

How to created hard lines watercolour background with Stampin' Up! inks

StampinByHannah Techniques How to create a hard lines watercolour background

Some weeks working out which technique to share can be a struggle… but not this week! I made the card in this post last week, after I spotted a card on one of the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Facebook groups, and just had so much fun creating the background that I knew I HAD to share it!

Pretty Wedding Card using Oh So Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

This card would be so lovely as a Wedding congratulations, or engagement card. I have used a sentiment from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set, mainly because it coordinates with the dies… but looking at it now a Congratulations sentiment would have worked better!

This is one of those cards with lots of layers… so I will give you a quick run down:

  • Watercoloured technique on Shimmery White card stock (check the video for all the details on this one!)
  • Die cut area using the Eclectic Layers dies. The whole watercoloured panel is popped up on Dimensionals, and I have added some of the die cut pieces back in (in an almost inlay die cut style) with some Gold Glimmer Paper pieces added in too
  • Two leaves punched from Champagne Foil with the Leaf Punch
  • A vellum Everyday Label (punched)
  • Flower die cut from the Eclectic Layers dies in Blushing Bride with a Clear Faceted Gem in the centre
  • Sentiment heat embossed in White, punched with the Classic Label Punch

The focus of this blog post isn’t that card though… it’s about the techniques right!

The background is created with a fun, and quick, watercolour technique that I am calling Hard Lines Watercolour (I’m sure someone else has a better name for it!). I LOVE doing this for a quick and easy background. It’s super pretty when you use a soft colour like Blushing Bride, but it can be really striking in a bolder colour too!

Fun and pretty Valentines card using Oh So Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

I think I have covered everything in the video… it’s really just about adding layers, and drying in between. Using a Heat Tool really helps as the ink drys before it has time to spread out, and therefore gives those lovely hard lines! I could totally play around with this for hours… different colours, different sized paint brushes, different amounts of water all create different effects but they are all so pretty.

The panel I created in this week’s Techniques Video has also been made into a card… and you can see that if you subscribe to my emails in my Stampin’ Inspiration Monday Video!

Inspire.Create.Challenge 009 | Heart Happiness

How to make a fun watercoloured Valentines card using Heart Happiness from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Inspire.Create.Challenge 009 | Heart Happiness

Inspire.Create.Challenges Love Themed Challenge

Oh yes… the next big card making event (other than Birthdays!) is Valentines day and this week’s Inspire.Create.Challenges Love Themed challenge should give you plenty of ideas and inspiration! We would LOVE to see your Love themed creations too… don’t forget to enter the challenge over on the Inspire.Create.Challenges blog!

Heat embossed Valentines Card using Heart Happiness from Stampin' Up!

The Heart Happiness Stamp Set from the new Stampin’ Up! Spring Summer catalogue is full of fun hearts (not a sentiment in sight!) and it coordinates with TWO sets of dies too; Lots to Love Box Framelits and the Sweet and Sassy Framelits. However, I did hand cut the tall skinny heart without much issue.

I actually filmed watercolouring the floral heart, which I will share on my Instagram later on today. I used a combination of Powder Pink, Rose Red and Rich Razzleberry to colour the heart, and lots of layers of colour.

Watercoloured Valentines card using Heart Happiness from Stampin' Up!

The other heart is stamped in Rich Razzleberry onto Vellum, and I hand cut it as I mentioned.

The sentiment is taken from the Petal Palette stamp set, stamped in Rose Red onto Shimmery White card stock. Before the ink was totally dry I rubbed over it with a dry-ish Aqua-Painter to create this watercolour wash effect. I have been loving using the Everyday Label punch, and I punched out the sentiment but it was a little big. So I trimmed it! I love the look actually.

Thanks for stopping by StampinByHannah today, and I cannot wait to see you Love themed creations over on Inspire.Create.Challenges!

12 Days of Giftaways (Day 3) | Crafting Forever

StampinByHannah 12 Days of Giftaways (Day 3) Crafting Forever

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday

This week’s Thoughtful Thursday is somewhat of a reminder to myself; Do Something Creative Everyday. I started crafting as an escape and a chance for some ‘me time’. I have discussed before about my anxiety, and recently my mental health hasn’t been the best… but my crafting has continued, my blogging has continued, and a continue to LOVE what I do! But sometimes I need a little reminder…

This is a cute little 3-1/2 x 3-1/2″ card, made from a piece of Night of Navy card stock cut to 7 x 3-1/2″ and scored on the long side at 3-1/2″. The pens are taken from the Crafting Forever Stamp Set, and after I stamped them in Night of Navy ink I used an Aqua-Painter to pull out some of the colour to colour the pens.

I am currently LOVING Berry Burst in every colour combination, but Berry with Navy is super pretty. So, the sentiment is stamped in Berry Burst on Watercolour Paper and I spritzed it with a little water to activate and move the ink to create this fun watercolour effect. I tried a few different combinations of circle framelits and punches for the boarder around the sentiment, but they were all too thick. So, I used a trick that is always handy to know, but I don’t used often… I ran the circular piece through the Night of Navy ink pad to give the edges a hint of Night of Navy!

The card is finished with a spritz of Berry Burst ink to tie it all together

We have reached Day 3 of my 12 Days of Giftaways today…I LOVE being able to give you something special when you shop… and I have some special things coming in the new year! So, as my Christmas gift to you I have a special gift for each person who shops over £45 for the next 12 days. Half Full Birthday Card

Red Wine Watercolour Birthday card using Half Full from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Half Full Birthday Card

I realised on Sunday morning that I hadn’t made a Birthday card for my mum (her birthday was yesterday!). Does this happen to other people? I make mountains of cards, but actually remembering to make a card for a loved one seems to fall off my radar! But it’s OK, because I realised also that I had a new stamp set in my collection! Half Full is a fabulous wine-theme’d stamp set, designed by Million Dollar seller Linda Bauwin, and gifted to me by my team leader at team training last weekend.

Watercoloured Wine Birthday Card using Half Full from Stampin' Up! by StampinByHannah

The Half Full stamp set can be found in the Autumn Winter catalogue, and comes with a bunch of fun Christmas-y sentiments, but nothing for birthday. So, I grabbed by favourite Happy Birthday stamp from the Butterfly Basics stamp set, and stamped it in Basic Black into Crushed Curry card stock.

My mum LOVES Red Wine… and so I pulled out Cherry Cobbler ink for the wine, and set about watercolouring! I haven’t watercoloured in a while (I know, it’s shocking!)… but this stamp set is just perfect for watercolour, or Stampin’ Blends. I love the watercolour effect here, created using a almost dry Aqua-Painter and several layers of ink…. and I might have had some kitchen roll to blot some of the excess ink off too.

#birthday #wine #wineoclock Watercoloured birthday card using Half Full from Stampin' Up!

The card is finished with a bow in Garden Green Stitched Satin Ribbon, and a strip of Champagne Foil!

Global Design Project 112 – Colour Me Happy

Global Design Project Watecolour Colour Me Happy Card using Stampin' Up! products

StampinByHannah Global Design Project 112 – Colour Me Happy

Hello….

So, I had planned for this blog post to go live this morning, but for many many reasons yesterday was a total write off, and so this evening appears to be the time.

This week’s Global Design Project Challenge is a CASE the designer. CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything… or Copy and Selectively Edit, depending on your point of view. I LOVE the card that the GDP have chosen for this weeks inspiration, and just HAD to have a go this week!

Global Design Project Watecolour Colour Me Happy Card using Stampin' Up! products

This card looks really complicated, but really it only took a few minutes to put together… even with the watercolour!

The flowers are stamped in Archival Basic Black ink onto Watercolour Paper. I am loving this stamp set, its called Colour Me Happy, and its a limited edition set released to celebrate the launch of Stampin’ Blends. It coordinates with a lovely card kit, although I think I have used it more on its own than with the kit! Here the flowers are watercoloured in Island Indigo ink, with Tangerine Tango centres. The background is coloured with Crumb Cake ink.

Measurements:

Card Base – Crumb Cake – 29.7 x 10.5 cm, scored at 14.85 cm

Basic Black card stock layer – 9 x 13.3 cm

Watercolour paper  – 8.5 x 12.8 cm

So Happy for You Card using Colour Me Happy from Stampin' Up!

The thing that really stood out about Connie’s card was the accents… I have recently been taking the backing paper off of White Perfect Accents for a hint of something on some of my cards. Today though, I thought I would try and taking the backing off some of the Glitter Enamel Dots…. and you know, it works! Peel away the coloured paper backing, and you reveal clear, glitter dots, Perfect for an accent!

The sentiment is also taken from the Colour Me Happy Stamp set, it is heat embossed in White onto a piece of Basic Black card stock, and the end finished with the Triple Banner Punch.
