Ok, so last Friday was my birthday… but one day isn’t long enough to celebrate is it?! So, this week I have a WHOLE WEEK of fabulous birthday inspiration for you! Today’s card is super simple, but the Designer Series Paper is just so stunning that it’s such a shame to cover it up!
This Designer Series Paper is special, it features actual photographs of fabulous birthday images; confetti, cookies, donuts, party hats and more! The Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper features in this year’s StampinByHannah Birthday Card Club. Club sign up’s close on Sunday 14th January. StampinByHannah Pootlers Team Blog Hop Petal Passion Best Wishes…
Welcome to StampinByHannah… today’s blog post is a super special one! I am privileged to organise our team blog hops, I LOVE doing them! Partly because I just love to share, but I get a sneaky peak of everyone’s projects and I know that this time the girls have made some totally awesome projects! I have been running the hop for 3 wonderful years, and I am so pleased to see so many members of the team taking part this time… we have 30 fabulous blogs for you today! Please take some time to check them all out and leave some comment love on your travels too.
The Petal Palette suite is my absolute favourite from the new Spring Summer catalogue! I am such a sucker for a stamp set with a good font, and this one has fabulous fonts, lovely sentiments and some gorgeous florals too. The stamp set coordinates with a fabulous set of dies, the Petals and More thinlits do more than just cut out some of the stamps, there are some lovely layering pieces in there too.
I coloured in the floral stamp with Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Pencils and blended the colours with a Blender pen, before using the coordinating die to cut it out. This floral stamp is then layered with two of the die cuts, and some stamping and Gold Heat Embossing to create the final effect.

StampinByHannah 12 Days of Giftaways (Day 11) Brusho!
It’s FRIDAY! actually… it’s more than just Friday today, today is my 30th Birthday. I am super excited to be sharing my 30th Birthday year with Stampin’ Up! and have some celebratory plans coming later in the year. Today I’m planning on taking the day as a ‘Me Day’ although I am sure that James has some other plans!
Today’s video is a little different, in that I don’t have an actual project to make with you, but I wanted you to see how easy it is to get started with Brusho!
I do have a couple of top tips:
Clear your work area … Brusho can get a little messy, particularly if you are using it with a Stampin’ Spritzer, so tidy up anything precious before you start
If you don’t like messy fingers I would suggest grabbing some disposable gloves!
Time… it’s likely to run away with you once you get started, so make sure you’ve got an afternoon free to play!
Every month I share an Online Card class Live on Facebook. My next class is at 2PM (GMT) on the 9th January, and we are going to play with the Beautiful Day stamp set as well as Brusho a little more! StampinByHannah 12 Days of Giftaways (Day 10) | Lots of Lavender
I LOVE to send Thank You cards… each and every one of my customers receive one to say Thanks, and one of my goals for this year is to send more cards!
Sale-a-bration started yesterday, and one of the first Sale-a-bration gifts to fall into my basket was Lots of Lavender! I am such a sucker for a two step stamp set and this one is super pretty.
The Lavender is stamped in Smoky Slate, with Wisteria Wonder flowers and Pear Pizzazz leaves. I will admit that this card is actually one MASSIVE cutting mistake, I think I was a little tired when making it, and managed to completely forget my usual cutting measurements, but I really quite like the hint of Pear Pizzazz card stock at the top and bottom rather than all the way around.
Measurements:
Card base; Wisteria Wonder – 10.5 x 29.7 cm, scored on the long side at 14.85 cm
Pear Pizzazz layer; 9.5 x 13.8 cm
Whisper White layer; 9.5 x 13.3 cm
The sentiment is taken from Thankful Thoughts, I use this stamp set all the time for Customer Thank You cards! It has a great selection of fun ways to say ‘Thanks’ but I really enjoy using this big sentiment stamp for a quick and easy focal point.

StampinByHannah Sale-a-bration Kick Off Blog Hop Amazing You
Tonight I have a special blog post for you… I have joined with a host of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world to Celebrate the start of Sale-a-bration 2018. Sale-a-bration starts tomorrow and I have a special blog post going up first thing in the morning with all the details, but I have a fabulous card to share with you tonight using TWO of the fabulous Sale-a-bration free gifts….
This card uses the Amazing You Stamp set, and the coordinating Celebrate You Thinlits dies, both of which are FREE during Sale-a-bration. I wanted to keep this card fairly simple and let the sentiment do all the talking. The ‘Amazing’ is die cut from Champagne Foil Sheet, while the rest of the sentiment is stamped and heat embossed in White onto Basic Black card stock
The Designer Series Paper is another brand new product, from this year’s Spring Summer catalogue, and I am totally in LOVE with it. I am such a sucker for Black and White Designer Series Paper anyway, but this pack is gorgeous! Petal Passion Designer Series Paper is part of the Petal Palette Suite… and I have HEAPS of samples to share with you over the next few weeks!
The other cool bit of this card is the Gold Embossed Splatter. I saw this recently on the Stampin’ Up! Instagram page, and I just thought it was such a cool idea. It’s also super easy to do! I splattered a mix of White Craft Ink and Water onto my Whisper White card stock, then sprinkled over some Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, but Stampin’ Up! suggested a mix of Multipurpose Glue and water.
So fun!

Oh my goodness… how is it already 2018?! 2017 was a mad year and I already know that 2018 is going to be just as crazy. I’m kicking off 2018 with my January Code Club…. and rolling out a couple of changes. I mentioned last month that Code Club was changing, and this month is THE month!
What is Code Club?
Code Club is just ONE of the ways I say Thank You to my customers each and every month. Each month I issue a brand new code, which is entered at checkout in my Online Store. I then send a FREE card kit to you that features in my monthly Facebook Live Card Class. Kits include all the card stock, ribbons and embellishments needed to make the projects, but DO NOT include the stamp set. You can find out about this month’s Facebook Live Card Class over on my Facebook Page…. Class is at 2PM on 9th January, but will be available as a reply from the 14th.
So… how do you join in?
It’s really easy! Just add the Code Club Code into the box labelled ‘Host Code’ during check out. This will then add your order to the club! You Stampin’ Up! goodies will be sent to you as normal via UPS and should be with you in 3-5 working days. I will then also package up your card kit and aim to have it with you shortly after your order too.
Code Club orders only qualify for Card Kits if they are over £25, and if your order is over £150 PLEASE Do Not add the code… you will automatically qualify for a Card Kit, PLUS you will earn your own Stampin’ Rewards points too!

StampinByHannah 12 Days of Giftaways (Day 7) Make It Monday with Picture Perfect Birthday
Hello! Happy New Year!
It is Day 7 of my 12 Days of Giftaways today, you can find all the details at the end of this blog post. However, it is also Monday… which of course means it is time for a Make It Monday video tutorial!
I have a special video for you today… after my blog post last Wednesday for Inspire.Create.Challenges. I had already made two cards with the current sketch challenge, and I shared my tips for using a sketch last week, but I wanted to share my process with you too.
This card was the first card I made with THIS sketch… and although I like it, the card I shared with the Inspire.Create.Challenges Design Team is my favourite of the bunch! This is also the first card I have made with the Coffee Cafe Stamp set and coordinating Coffee Cups framelits.
When I first saw / Designed the sketch I saw Embossing paste in the top horizontal piece. Embossing Paste is a great way of adding that little something extra to your cards, a bit of extra dimension and some texture. I coloured it here using a drop of Crumb Cake reinker, for a tone on tone effect, but you can leave it white for something a little bolder.
The white splatter on this card was created by mixing a drop of Whisper White Craft Ink Re-inker with water on an Aqua-painter, then banging the painter off a pen to create splatter… I LOVE doing this but it does make a bit of a mess. I made some Christmas tags at the last minute last week and did the same thing… and managed to cover my desk, tool caddy, phone and myself in White splatter!
Ok, so the card I made on the video uses the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set and coordinating Designer Series Paper. This stamp set features in my 2018 Birthday Card Club… Club sign ups are closing really soon (7th January!) so sign up this week to grab your place!
I kept this simpler for this card, letting that Designer Series Paper do all the talking! The Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper features some fabulous photo-real birthday images as well as some really fun generic patterns in fun colour combinations!
