StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday Sharing Sweet Thoughts

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday

I have something a little different for this weeks Thoughtful Thursday… Did you know that Stampin’ Up! raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for charities every year? They have partnered with Ronald MacDonald House Charities both here in the UK and around the world, and release a fabulous stamp set each year with £2 from each sale going to the charity. Here in the UK that has been taken a step further and over recent months Stampin’ Up! UK have hosted two wonderful sponsored card making event weekends to make cards for families. Ronald MacDonald House Charities UK run 15 houses for families with children in hospital up and down the country, allowing families to stay close to there children.

How to make a cute thinking of you card using Sharing Sweet Thoughts from Stampin' Up! UK

This year’s stamp set is called Sharing Sweet Thoughts, and is available until June. This fun set coordinates with another set in the Annual catalogue; Jar of Love, as well as the Everyday Jars thinlits dies. Saying that, I haven’t actually used any dies on this card… but that ladybird was too cute not to fussy cut!

Cute thinking of you card using Sharing Sweet Thoughts from Stampin' Up!

If you would like to support the work of Ronald MacDonald House Charities, all you need to do is purchase a copy of this pretty stamp set! While you in my Webstore, I would LOVE you to check out the Sale-a-bration goodies too!

Sale-a-bration Spotlight | Heartfelt Blooms

Sale-a-bration spotlight Heartfelt Blooms Card using Stampin' Up! products

StampinByHannah Sale-a-bration Spotlight Heartfelt Blooms

Stampin' Up! Saleabration

I am loving Sale-a-bration this year! Sale-a-bration is the biggest event in the Sale-a-bration calendar… it has 3 fabulous parts; Shop, Host and Join.

Each week on a Wednesday I am focusing one a Sale-a-bration goody, and this week it’s Heartfelt Blooms!

Island Indigo Thank You card using Heartfelt Blooms from Stampin' Up!

This stamp set is special stamp set, not only can you choose it as your free item when you spend £45 before the end of March, but also it is part of a brand new line of stamps from Stampin’ Up! Disinktive stamps are a brand new style of stamp that layers ink down at different opacities, giving you a fabulous dimensional image.

Sale-a-bration spotlight thinking of you card using Heartfelt blooms from Stampin' Up! and the spolight stamping technique

This card uses a fun technique I hadn’t tried for a while; Spotlight Stamping (see what I did there?!). I stamped the Heartfelt Bloom twice, once in Smoky Slate and one in Rose Red. Then, I took the 1″ circle punch to the Rose Red one. These punch outs are then lined up with the Smoky Slate image, to create spotlights! Fun yes?!

This gorgeous stamp is is available for FREE during Sale-a-bration. All you need to do it spend £45 in the Online Store (that’s the Spring Summer or Annual catalogues, or even the Clearance rack!). There are 12 other free items if this one does float your boat, 2 of which are extra special and require a spend of £90 before you can choose them for free. When you shop using the Online Store, Stampin’ Up! will prompt you to add your Sale-a-bration items, and tell you how many you can have. They call the items you can choose for a £45 Level 1, and those requiring a £90 spend Level 2. You will earn a Sale-a-bration item every time you hit £45 in an individual order, meaning that if you spend £90 you can either have TWO Level 1 items or ONE Level 2. If you spend £135 you can choose THREE Level 1 items or ONE Level 1 item PLUS ONE Level 2!

This gets even better when you spend £150 as you will get to choose your Sale-a-bration items AND then spend at least £15 worth of Stampin’ Up! Rewards on anything in either the Spring Summer or Annual catalogues including the Hostess Exclusive stamp sets. But, when you place an order of £200 you get 4 Level 1 items, PLUS 10% of your order in Stampin’ Up! Rewards AND an extra £20 to spend on anything in the Spring Summer or Annual catalogues!

Don’t forget to shop using the Code Club Code to receive some great FREE goodies!

I will be closing this order on the 30th January 2018

International Blog Highlights | Truly Tailored

Fun card for guys using Truly Tailored from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah International Blog Highlights Truly Tailored

Kylies International Blog Highlight banner

It’s that special day of the month again… Kylie’s International Blog Highlight. I LOVE taking part in these events, partly because I get to see heaps of creative ideas from loads of other Demonstrators around the world, but also because Kylie always comes up with a cool theme! This month is no exception, and I am sure that everyone has made some fabulous projects. This month we are sharing our favourite products from the Spring Summer (Occasions if your outside of Europe) catalogue and Sale-a-bration!

International Blog Highlights with Kylie Bertucci Mans Card using Truly Tailored from Stampin' Up!

I LOVE the Truly Tailored Suite in the Spring Summer Catalogue. Initially I was drawn to the colour combination, although I did spend far longer than I would care to admit trying to see the Crushed Curry on the papers printed in the catalogue!

It is definitely there though, and using a bit of Crushed Curry Bakers Twine on this card has really helped to pull it out of the papers.

Using Designer Series Paper on a manly card using True Gentleman from Stampin' Up!

I hadn’t really thought about it until I came to right this blog post, but I think my choice of papers is my subconscious speaking to me…. because I really need to hurry up and pick my new glasses! I promise I’ll share a picture of them on my social media when they arrive!

Make It Monday Video Tutorial How to Make a Self Closing Bag using Stampin' Up! Products

StampinByHannah Make It Monday Body Shop Self Closing Bag Tutorial

Make It Monday

It was my Birthday a few weeks ago, and one of my Sister-in-Laws (I am not giving my brother any credit for any presents ever again!) gave me a whole bunch of Body Shop goodies. One of the things she gave me was some gorgeous hand cream, and I just HAD to make a cute bag for it!

Make It Monday Cut Self Closing Bag Tutorial using Just Add Colour Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

This Self Closing bag is really simple to make. However, I did manage to get in wrong the first time… using the wrong blade on my trimmer to trim rather than score my Designer Series Paper! #fail!

Measurements:

Designer Series Paper: 6 x 4 1/2″ (15 x 12 cm)

Score on the SHORT side at 2 and 4″ (5 and 10 cm)

Score on the LONG side at 1″ (2.5 cm) on the side that you want to be at the bottom of your bag

Put your Designer Series Paper into your Simple Scored with the SHORT side at the top, and the skinny strip before the score line, at the top… and score at  1 1/2 and 3 1/2 inches (or 4.5 and 9.5 cm)

Facebook Live Online Card Class Replay | Beautiful Day

Facebook Live Online Card Class with Brusho and Beautiful Day from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Facebook Live Online Card Class Replay Beautiful Day

Stampin' Up! Facebook Live StampinByHannah UK

This past Tuesday was my January Facebook Live Online Card Class. I am LOVING doing Facebook Live, and had a few people join me live this month. I am planning a free class in the first 2 weeks of each month in 2018, and you can find all the upcoming dates on my calendar.

How to use Brusho from Stampin' Up! with Beautiful Day

The first card in this months class is a super fun CASe of a card in the Stampin Up! Spring Summer Catalogue. CASE stands for Copy and Selectively Edit and is basically a nice way of saying that I took quite a lot of inspiration from Stampin’ Up! with this one! I am LOVING using Brusho and had a lot of fun colouring this butterfly.

Brusho is great but there is a bit of a learning curve… and I’m still not sure I’m completely satisfied with how I am using it. However, here the water was added first, and then Brusho sprinkled over. I would suggest having both an Aqua-Painted and a Stampin’ Spritzer to hand when using Brusho. You can find my Introduction to Brusho video HERE!

Facebook Live Online Card Class featuring Beautiful Day by Stampin' Up!

The second card in this class doesn’t use Brusho at all! For all the Beautiful Day stamp set has been designed with Brusho in mind, there are heaps of ways to use it without colouring it! I have already shared THIS card which uses Beautiful Day and Stampin’ Blends.

You can get your complete card kit for this class (excluding the stamps and Brusho) by shopping with me during January. All you need to do to claim your kit is to add the January Code Club Code to your order at checkout.

Facebook Live Online Card Class with Brusho and Beautiful Day from Stampin' Up!

The 3rd and final card in this months Facebook Live Online Card Class is this one… which I didn’t actually complete during the class! (I mean… who finished all their cards in class right?!).There is also yet another Heat Embossed sentiment BUT I did trim the sentiment down, by chopping off the ‘Always’!

Before I go, I do just want to mention the fabulous Sale-a-bration joining offer… This fabulous offer is more than just £130 worth of Stampin’ Up! products for £99, with 2 extra stamp sets for FREE. Joining Stampin’ Up! is like being part of a special club, filled with crafting inspiration, events, and fun! If you have written your wish list and it comes to more than £90 please do consider grabbing a Starter Kit and becoming a part of my team. For more information check out my Joining Page or FAQ’s!

I do hope that you enjoyed class this month. If you did, please do consider signing up for my Stamp of the Month Club, this month we are playing with the Petal Palette Stamp set.

Techniques | Coordinated Die Cutting with Petal Palette from Stampin’ Up!

Techniques Video Tutorial How to make a fun Congratulations card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Techniques Coordinated Die Cutting with Petal Palette from Stampin’ Up!Stamping Techniques Series

This weeks technique is something I have been wanting to do for a month or so, following a video shared by Jennifer McGuire. The technique is Coordinated Die Cutting, and is a fun way to look at your stamps and matchin dies

Coordinating Die Cut Windows using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The cards I am sharing today are fairly simple, keeping the technique front and centre. Creating coordinating die cut windows really called to me when I first picked up this stamp and die set, but I know that you can do this with lots and lots of die sets.

The trick to this technique is a simple sheet of vellum, and ensuring that your two layers of card stock and your Vellum are the exact same size. However, once you have all card stock cut, the actual creation of the card is a quick process (as you can see, this video isn’t massively long for once!)

Using Coordinating Dies and Die Cutting in cardmaking using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The ribbons used on this card are both from the same pack. The Sale-a-bration Shimmer Ribbon Pack contains 3 colours of shimmery ribbons in Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral and Basic Gray. Each ribbon is a different width as well as a different colour, but they are all shimmery and very pretty. This pack of ribbon is completely FREE with a £45 order during Sale-a-bration.

Birthday Card Week | Number of Years Birthday Card

How to make a fun 40th Birthday card using Number of Years from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Birthday Card Week Number of Years Birthday Card

StampinByHannah Independent Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Birthday Card week

Yes, today we continue Birthday Card Week! I know that you make more Birthday Cards than anything else and I get more requests from family and friends to make Birthday cards than any other card. So today I have a fun Birthday Card with a bit of a wow factor…

Fun and modern handmade 40th Birthday card using Number of Years from Stampin' Up!

I’m such a sucker from a great colour combination, and I REALLY love this one! Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist and Melon Mambo.

There are a number of layers on this card… (I would apologise, but I am having heaps of fun with lots of elements at the moment!)

  • Background embossed with the New Simple Stripes Embossing Folder
  • Vellum leaves from the Leaf Punch
  • Lemon Lime Twist square die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits
  • Melon Mambo banner (die cut using the Large Numbers dies)
  • Numbers stamped in Melon Mambo and die cut using the coordinating dies
  • Heat Embossed sentiments
  • Hearts & Stars Elements

Tranquil Tide 40th Birthday Card using Number of Years from Stampin' Up!

The Hearts & Stars Elements are so pretty. The top star is adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, while the lower one is not actually stuck at all, but rather trapped as the dimensional holding the sentiment in place is actually in the centre of it.

What type of card do you  make most of?

Inspire.Create.Challenge 009 | Heart Happiness

How to make a fun watercoloured Valentines card using Heart Happiness from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Inspire.Create.Challenge 009 | Heart Happiness

Inspire.Create.Challenges Love Themed Challenge

Oh yes… the next big card making event (other than Birthdays!) is Valentines day and this week’s Inspire.Create.Challenges Love Themed challenge should give you plenty of ideas and inspiration! We would LOVE to see your Love themed creations too… don’t forget to enter the challenge over on the Inspire.Create.Challenges blog!

Heat embossed Valentines Card using Heart Happiness from Stampin' Up!

The Heart Happiness Stamp Set from the new Stampin’ Up! Spring Summer catalogue is full of fun hearts (not a sentiment in sight!) and it coordinates with TWO sets of dies too; Lots to Love Box Framelits and the Sweet and Sassy Framelits. However, I did hand cut the tall skinny heart without much issue.

I actually filmed watercolouring the floral heart, which I will share on my Instagram later on today. I used a combination of Powder Pink, Rose Red and Rich Razzleberry to colour the heart, and lots of layers of colour.

Watercoloured Valentines card using Heart Happiness from Stampin' Up!

The other heart is stamped in Rich Razzleberry onto Vellum, and I hand cut it as I mentioned.

The sentiment is taken from the Petal Palette stamp set, stamped in Rose Red onto Shimmery White card stock. Before the ink was totally dry I rubbed over it with a dry-ish Aqua-Painter to create this watercolour wash effect. I have been loving using the Everyday Label punch, and I punched out the sentiment but it was a little big. So I trimmed it! I love the look actually.

Thanks for stopping by StampinByHannah today, and I cannot wait to see you Love themed creations over on Inspire.Create.Challenges!

Sale-a-bration Spotlight | Lots of Lavender

How to make a quick and easy card using Lots of Lavender from Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration #stampinup #saleabration

StampinByHannah Sale-a-bration Spotlight Lots of Lavender

Stampin' Up! Saleabration

Welcome to Wednesday’s here at StampinByHannah… now, Wednesday is not a usual posting day, but during Sale-a-bration I have an extra blog post (and sometimes a video) for you on a Wednesday! Yay!

This year’s Sale-a-bration event is bigger and better than ever before, with 13 fabulous gifts you can earn for FREE when you spend £45 between now and the end of March! One of those fabulous gifts is Lots of Lavender. I LOVE this stamp set, it features Two-Step Stampin’ (my favourite!) and some beautiful images too.

How to make a fun thank you card using Lots of Lavender from Stampin' Up!

You can choose Lots of Lavender as your FREE gift when you spend £45 in either the Annual OR Spring Summer catalogues, or anywhere on my Stampin’ Up! Webstore.

Today’s video was inspired by THIS card by Teneale Williams. I loved the use of Designer Series Paper, and the slightly distressed look, it’s not something I do often, but I do enjoy taking a nail file to a piece of paper and ‘roughing’ it up a bit!

Lots of Lavender CASe card using Stampin' Up! products

For all I LOVE this stamp set, it did take me a couple of goes before I found a look I LOVED with it… check the video for my top tips!

I also made a card for one of my team mates this past week with Lots of Lavender. I have mentioned before how it is one of my New Year’s resolutions, to send more cards… and I needed to pop something in the post to her, and so a card was needed too.

Quick and Easy Just Because card using Lots of Lavender and Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The BEST deal during Sale-a-bration has to be the Join offer…. did you know that to become a part of Stampin’ Up! all you need to do is buy the Starter Kit?

PLUS during Sale-a-bration you get to add a further TWO stamp sets from the Annual or Spring Summer catalogue into your kit too. Stampin’ Up! offer some fabulous gifts and incentives if you do decide to make Stampin’ Up! your business, but are MORE than happy for you to be a happy shopper (and so am I!). Birthday Card Week | True Gentleman

Birthday Card Week Quick and Easy Guys Birthday Card using True Gentleman from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Birthday Card Week True Gentleman

StampinByHannah Independent Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Birthday Card week

Before I get into the blog post for today… I just want to let you know that today is my January Facebook Live Online Card Class! Check out my Facebook page at 2PM!

Last Friday was my birthday… but one day isn’t long enough to celebrate is it?! So, this week I have a WHOLE WEEK of fabulous birthday inspiration for you!

Today’s card is one I made for one of my Father-in-law’s birthday’s before Christmas. As a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I get to pre-order new products the month before catalogue launches, and I took full advantage of that to make this card!

Birthday Card Week Quick and Easy Guys Birthday Card using True Gentleman from Stampin' Up!

One of the many things that drew me to this particular suite in the new Spring Summer catalogue is the colour combination in this Designer Series Paper; Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, Night of Navy, Tranquil Tide and Very Vanilla. You guys know how much I love a good colour combination, and I LOVE this one! I have to say though that when I first read ‘Crushed Curry’ in the catalogue, it did think that someone had made a mistake, but no, there is a hint of Yellow in these papers and it really makes thinks Pop!

Birthday Card Week Quick and Easy Guys Birthday Card using True Gentleman from Stampin' Up!

Carrying on with the hint of Yellow theme, I added my own to this card. I mentioned a few weeks ago that sometimes I want a hint of colour behind a die cut, and that layering another die cut is sometimes too much… well, I pulled out this technique again here. Once I had the circle stamped and die cut, I ran the circle through my Crushed Curry ink pad to add a hint of colour.

Thanks for checking out StampinByHannah today… please consider signing up for my emails for twice weekly inspiration, and I’ll see you again soon!
