Stamping Techniques Series

I am completely in love with the Petal Palette Suite in the Stampin’ Up! Spring Summer catalogue. I mean, what is not to love about floral stamps, sentiments in a pretty font and Black and White Designer Series Paper?! Its SO pretty, and I just cannot put it away! I have been using it a lot recently, and I hate to tell you, I’m not sick of it yet and there is more coming next week too…

Make It Monday How to use a Sponge Brayer with Petal Passion Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

The star of the show here is definitely the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper. This pack is purely Black and White and features a collection of floral and leafy prints. This makes it the perfect candidate for colouring. I have previously used Watercolour Pencils and a Blender pen, and there are heaps of Blends examples floating around Pinterest, but here I have chosen to use a Sponge Brayer.

Using a Basic Black card base always causes the question; Where do you write? Do you decorate the inside of your cards?

Well, here I have added a piece of Whisper White card stock on the inside, with a spot of stamping using the coordinating Petal Palette Stamp set and a hint of colour added with a sponge.

Petal Palette Birthday Card

How to create a fabulous floral Birthday card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Petal Palette Birthday Card

January is a busy Birthday month in my family, with mine at the start of the month and then James’ dad and great Nannie, as well as my Aunt… I feel like all I have made recently are Birthday cards! Today’s card is one I made for my Aunt, my mum’s sister. I wanted something a bit special, but that would go nicely through the post as she lives in London, as we don’t get to see her as often as we would like to.

How to create a fabulous floral Birthday card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

My crafty mojo hasn’t been it’s usual self this month either (LOTS going on around here… and it’s knocked me a bit), so I turned to the Global Design Project for inspiration. Which is where I spotted THIS fabulous card by Cathy Collins, and I knew I just HAD to CASe it! Cathy uses Stampin’ Blends to colour her card, but as I only have a limited collection of Blends at the moment I reached for my Stampin’ Write Markers instead.

I stamped several of the floral images from Petal Palette using Basic Black Archival Ink and then used Stampin’ Write Markers to add colour. I love the slightly messy look of this style of colouring, where you just leave a hint of colour and a bit of white space. Two of the images from this stamp set coordinate with dies in the coordinating Petals and More Thinlits pack (which is also available bundled with the stamp set to save you 10%!).

I am LOVING my markers at the moment and have a fabulous Stampin’ Write Marker Club too. The club allows you to collect all 38 markers over the next 4 months along with a handy case to store them in too! You can join in HERE!

Bright and fun Floral Birthday card with Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The card is finished with a sentiment taken from Happy Birthday Gorgeous heat embossed in White, a great big bow of linen thread and a trio of Gold Facet gems.

Techniques | Coordinated Die Cutting with Petal Palette from Stampin’ Up!

Techniques Video Tutorial How to make a fun Congratulations card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Techniques Coordinated Die Cutting with Petal Palette from Stampin’ Up!Stamping Techniques Series

This weeks technique is something I have been wanting to do for a month or so, following a video shared by Jennifer McGuire. The technique is Coordinated Die Cutting, and is a fun way to look at your stamps and matchin dies

Coordinating Die Cut Windows using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The cards I am sharing today are fairly simple, keeping the technique front and centre. Creating coordinating die cut windows really called to me when I first picked up this stamp and die set, but I know that you can do this with lots and lots of die sets.

The trick to this technique is a simple sheet of vellum, and ensuring that your two layers of card stock and your Vellum are the exact same size. However, once you have all card stock cut, the actual creation of the card is a quick process (as you can see, this video isn’t massively long for once!)

Using Coordinating Dies and Die Cutting in cardmaking using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The ribbons used on this card are both from the same pack. The Sale-a-bration Shimmer Ribbon Pack contains 3 colours of shimmery ribbons in Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral and Basic Gray. Each ribbon is a different width as well as a different colour, but they are all shimmery and very pretty. This pack of ribbon is completely FREE with a £45 order during Sale-a-bration.

Inspire.Create.Challenge 009 | Heart Happiness

How to make a fun watercoloured Valentines card using Heart Happiness from Stampin' Up!

Inspire.Create.Challenges Love Themed Challenge

We would LOVE to see your Love themed creations too… don’t forget to enter the challenge over on the Inspire.Create.Challenges blog!

Heat embossed Valentines Card using Heart Happiness from Stampin' Up!

The Heart Happiness Stamp Set from the new Stampin’ Up! Spring Summer catalogue is full of fun hearts (not a sentiment in sight!) and it coordinates with TWO sets of dies too; Lots to Love Box Framelits and the Sweet and Sassy Framelits. However, I did hand cut the tall skinny heart without much issue.

I actually filmed watercolouring the floral heart, which I will share on my Instagram later on today. I used a combination of Powder Pink, Rose Red and Rich Razzleberry to colour the heart, and lots of layers of colour.

Watercoloured Valentines card using Heart Happiness from Stampin' Up!

The other heart is stamped in Rich Razzleberry onto Vellum, and I hand cut it as I mentioned.

The sentiment is taken from the Petal Palette stamp set, stamped in Rose Red onto Shimmery White card stock. Before the ink was totally dry I rubbed over it with a dry-ish Aqua-Painter to create this watercolour wash effect. I have been loving using the Everyday Label punch, and I punched out the sentiment but it was a little big. So I trimmed it! I love the look actually.

Thanks for stopping by StampinByHannah today, and I cannot wait to see you Love themed creations over on Inspire.Create.Challenges!

How to make a fabulous Best Wishes card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The Petal Palette suite is my absolute favourite from the new Spring Summer catalogue! I am such a sucker for a stamp set with a good font, and this one has fabulous fonts, lovely sentiments and some gorgeous florals too. The stamp set coordinates with a fabulous set of dies, the Petals and More thinlits do more than just cut out some of the stamps, there are some lovely layering pieces in there too.

Pootlers Team Blog Hop with PootlesPapercraft using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

I coloured in the floral stamp with Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Pencils and blended the colours with a Blender pen, before using the coordinating die to cut it out. This floral stamp is then layered with two of the die cuts, and some stamping and Gold Heat Embossing to create the final effect.

Here is the list of the lovely ladies taking part in our Pootlers Team Blog Hop today, please check them out and leave some comment love too. Thanks for checking out StampinByHannah today, and I hope to see you again soon!

12 Days of Giftaways (Day 8) | Petal Palette Congratulations

Quick and Easy Congratulations card using Watercolour Pencils and Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah 12 Days of Giftaways (Day 8) Petal Palette Congratulations

Tomorrow is the launch of the brand new Stampin’ Up! Spring Summer Catalogue AND the start of 2018 Sale-a-bration… I am SO excited! My absolute favourite suite in the new catalogue is Petal Palette… this suite is just so pretty, with a beautiful stamp set featuring some lovely sentiments (with a gorgeous font!) and some stunning black and white Designer Series Paper that I cannot wait to let my sponge brayer loose on! Fun Floral Congratulations card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

That strip of Designer Series Paper is from the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper Pack and comes as a black and white sheet. I had heaps of fun colouring it…. I used the Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Pencils to add some messy colour, then used a Blender Pen to spread the colour and even out the tone.  How cool is it that you could made loads of these cards, and each one could be totally different, using different colours and patterns all from the same stack of Designer Series Paper.

How to make a quick and easy watercoloured congratulations card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The Sentiment is from Petal Palette, as is the flower. Both are die cut using the coordinating Petals and More thinlits dies.
