Stamping Techniques Series

Oh, I am so excited! I have been trying to launch this series for a few weeks…. and I have finally managed to get a couple of tutorials filmed AND the blog post written!

Each week on a Friday I will be coming to you with a fun Technique… and the first few weeks are going to focus on Masking. I LOVE masking, but there are heaps of different ways to go about it, and so I thought I would share a few of those with you.

Techniques Series Masking How to use Party Pattern Masks and ink from Stampin' Up!

This first week I thought I would share the easiest Masking technique I know… using the Pattern Party Masks and ink!

Top Tips for masking:

  • Tape your card stock AND your mask down to your work surface; I will often use Sticky Notes or Sticky Note Tape, or Washi Tape to do this
  • Ensure that your Ink Pads are well inked
  • Dab your sponge into the ink and then onto the project, using a dabbing motion rather than a swirling motion ensures that all that lovely ink gets into the tight areas of the mask and onto the project rather than wasted

These fun cards use the Eastern Medallions Thinlits dies, and the Eastern Beauty Stamp set to create these fun and simple cards.

I love the look of the blue version, with some of the small pieces left in the die cut…. Which one is your favourite?
