Stampin' Up! Facebook Live StampinByHannah UK

I had intended for Facebook Live to be a monthly affair, but I am on Annual Leave from the day job this week and thought I would go Live again this week!  Facebook Live is so much fun, I have the next one in my diary for the 1st December and I do hope that you can join me.

I made 2 cards this week, although the main reason for my broadcast wasn’t necessarily to share my love of card making, but more to share my LOVE of Stampin’ Up! There are so many reasons why… Not only the FABULOUS deal that you get on the Starter Kit, the 20% off all your stampin’ goodies, the catalogues, magazine, exclusive website, mountains of crafty inspiration, and the opportunity to earn free products, vouchers and holidays! I LOVE the community and the friendships. I am heading to Stampin’ Up! OnStage this weekend to be with around 700 of my Stampin’ Sisters to see the new Spring/Summer catalogue and I CANNOT wait!

Stampin' Up! UK Starter Kit

The Starter Kit is always the best deal…. just £99 for £130 worth of Stampin’ Up! goodies of your choice, PLUS a stack of catalogues, order forms and other business gear. Not that you have to make a business of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, we welcome happy shoppers who just want that 20%, business builders, and everyone in between too.

That fabulous basket of Stampin’ Up! goodness just shows quite how much you can get in your Starter Kit! There is a stamp and punch bundle, a pack of Designer Series Paper, 2 packs of card stock, 4 ink pads, notecards and envelopes, embellishments and adhesives in there! Of course, what you put in your kit is totally your choice, but I always think its nice to see how far you cash can go!

tampinByHannah Facebook Live Cute Card using Work of Art by Stampin' Up!

Of all the good stuff that I selected for my Starter Kit there is only one stamp set left. Saying that it is a fabulous one! Work of Art has gathered dust on my shelves a little recently, but I do LOVE it! I took inspiration from the catalogue with this card, but I still think is is fabulous!

Measurements:

Card base – Berry Burst – 4 x 8″ (scored on the long side at 4″)

Whisper White Layer – 3-3/4 x 3-3/4″

StampinByHannah Facebook Live Christmas Card using Peace this Christmas by Stampin' Up!

We always need quick Christmas Cards… while I was searching my catalogue recently I spotted the Peace This Christmas stamp set. This stamp set carried over into the Annual Catalogue from last Christmas, and I still love it! This card was actually inspired by THIS card that the lovely Janice shared with the team at a Training event back in the summer.

Stamped in Basic Grey, Cherry Cobbler, and Garden Green, this is a very Classic Christmas card… but with a bit of Masking (LOVE!) and you could totally dress this one up more with some embellishments or ribbons too! I would LOVE to see your version! Share it with me on my Facebook Page.

Measurements:

Card Base – Cherry Cobbler – 29.7 x 10.5 cm, scored on the long edge at 14.85 cm

Basic Grey layer – 9.3 x 13.6

Whisper White layer – 9 x 13.3 cm

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge | Colour Challenge!

Just Because card using Crafting Forever and Work of Art from Stampin' Up!

Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge

Something slightly different for this months Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge…. this month I have set the girls a colour theme!

I am loving playing with the new In-Colours from this years Annual catalogue… but I wanted to push myself away from using them as a set of colours, and towards integrating them into the rest of our inks. I cannot wait to see what the other ladies have done with this combo!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Colour Challenge Creative Card using Work of Art and Crafting Forever from Stampin' Up!

I am a big believer in the power of craft…. I use my crafting as a creative escape, a de-stress, and ‘me time’ away from my busy personal life and hectic day job. I love nothing more than being able to set aside a a few hours, a whole day, or even just 10 minutes in my craft room with my stamps and ink. Crafting is more to me than just making pretty things (although, I love to make pretty things!) its about the friendships I have made whilst crafting. I am so lucky to have some wonderful friends through stamping, the ladies that are hopping with me today are just a handful. They are all so special….. and I hope that on this sunny Saturday that they are ‘doing something creative!’….. actually I know that a few of them are, because this weekend we are on a crafty retreat, stamping, making pretty things…. and spending some much needed time in the spa!

Just Because card using Crafting Forever and Work of Art from Stampin' Up!

This card uses two stamp sets; Crafting Forever and Work of Art. The sentiment and paint brushes are stamped in Smoky Slate, and die cut using the Stitched Shapes dies (I still can’t put these away!). I have incorporated the colour theme into the stamped panel…. dots from ‘Work of Art’ stamped in Fresh Fit, Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral.

Measurements:

Card Base – Blushing Bride – Half a piece of A4, folding in half (21 x 14.8 cm, scored at 10.5 cm)

Smoky Slate layer – 14.8 x 5.8 cm

Whisper White layer – 14.8 x 5.5 cm

I hope you have enjoyed stopping by today, please do hop along to my wonderful friend Sally to see what she has made with this fab colour combo!

Work of Art Notecard set

Note card set featuring Work of Art from Stampin' Up!

As the end of the current catalogue fast approaches I have been looking at those stamp sets that I have neglected in recent months. Today I thought I would show you guys a set of note cards using Work of Art. This is one of the stamp sets I picked in my Starter kit almost 2 years ago (It’s my second SU birthday next week! so excited!!!) but I haven’t used it as much recently, time to change that!

Note card set featuring Work of Art from Stampin' Up!These are so super simple to do. I used the paint strokes stamp from Work of Art and inked it up, and stamped it four times down a piece of Whisper White card stock without re-inking it. This creates a great gradient effect, and is a great demonstration of the number of times you can generation stamp with Stampin’ Up! inks. I selected four colours: Island Indigo, So Saffron, Old Olive and Watermelon Wonder. The So Saffron didn’t work quite as well as the others, but I still love the card

The sentiment is also from Work of Art, and is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink.

Note card set and box instructions using work of art from Stampin' Up!These cards would make a great gift, and so I also created this awesome box to hold them and their envelopes too!

Box Base  – Early Espresso Card stock – 25.5 x 16 cm

Score on the long side at 2, 18.5 and 20.5 cm

Score on the short side at 2 and 14 cm

The lid is created with a piece of Window Sheet – 20.7 x 16.2 cm

Scored on all for sides at 2 cm.

When working with Window Sheet you need to score repeatedly, to ensure a crease it formed, but it looks wonderful when its finished

The box is completed with a knot of Whisper White Organza Ribbon and a bow in Old Olive Bakers Twine

Layered Letters

Stampin' Up! UK Layered Letters Work of Art

I have had great fun playing with the Layered Letters Alphabet Stamp set! but there are other stamp set that sit on my shelves, that I LOVE but just don’t seem to get the ‘mat time’ that they deserve! Work of Art is one of these stamp sets, I love it, but I really struggle to use it as often as I should – but I thought it might work well with Layered Letters

And guess what….

Stampin' Up! UK Layered Letters Work of Art

It does!

A nice, simple card for a Monday! We are in the middle of school leaver / exam / results season and Congrats cards are always a handy thing to have on stand-by!

The stamping is in Cucumber Crush, Crushed Curry and Pacific Point, onto a layer of Very Vanilla, and a card base of Pacific Point. I have to say, I don’t know where this colour combination came from, I’m trying to experiment with colour at the moment – just pulling a few random ink pads out and stamping away – and what is so great about Stampin’ Up! inks is that they ALL work together, even combinations you wouldn’t expect!

What’s your favourite colour combinations this week?

Freshly Made Sketches #185 – Vivid Vases

I’m still loving playing along at Freshly Made Sketches and this weeks sketch is awesome…

Freshly Made Sketches 185

This card took me a while, mainly because I took it in a completely different direction to start with! I stamped the Vivid Vases onto Whisper White card stock first, and started to colour it with my Stampin’ Write markers – but something just wasn’t right, and currently when something’s not quite right, where do I go? Water! well, water on Whisper White doesn’t really work, well, not as well as it does on Watercolour paper anyway. So, I started again, this time stamping on watercolour paper and using my Stampin’ Write Markers to watercolour the vases.

Stampin' Up! UK Vivid Vases Freshly Made Sketches

I used Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry, and Marina Mist, to watercolour the vases, before using the same markers directly onto the paper to colour the flowers. I added some Pear Pizzazz for some added greenery before trimming and mounting onto some Dimensionals.

The two painted lines are from Work of Art, and are stamped in Bermuda Bay and Marina Mist. And I finished the card by stamping the sentiment from Vivid Vases using Memento Black ink

A Work of Art Just for You!

Playing around with Stamps and colours again today, and came up with this simple card using two stamp sets; Work of Art and Handcarved (retiring). I prep my projects a head of time and so this time a few items I have used have now been discontinued. I try not to use retired product in my projects – it doesn’t help you or me! – but around retiring list time it just couldn’t be helped. However, Work of Art is still with us, and I know that there are other background stamps this would work just as well with.

Stampin' Up! UK Work of Art

The background is stamped using Handcarved, in Tempting Turquoise stamped off once. With the other elements from Work of Art stamped across the card in Pacific Point and Pumpkin Pie.

I’ve finished this card with one of my favourite / go to finishing techniques, using Crystal Effects to create 3-dimensional droplets across the card. Simple but effective

Super Simple Sunday – A work of art just for men!

Arent mens card hard! well, no….. not when you have Pinterest to help!

So today I was searching around on Pinterest, and came across this great idea for using Work of Art… When I bought the set I could see awesome backgrounds, and I could see flower, but I never saw a boat! until today

Stampin up work of art boat

So this card is super simple! I stamped the components of the boat in Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz, and Crumb Cake. The Sentiment is stamped in Pear Pizzazz on a background of triple stamped Crumb Cake dots (I love that stamp, so much!). I added 3 coloured pearls and matted the piece on a piece of Pumpkin Pie, and a Crumb Cake card base!

Easy peasy!
