StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday New Home Card using Home Life from Stampin’ Up!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday

Over recent weeks I have had heaps of reasons to send cards to my friends and family, including my younger brother moving house last week. I have a few of this type of card to make over the next few weeks as my brother in law is also due to move very soon too. So, in preparation for them moving, and our house move (yes, it’s still ongoing!) I grabbed the Home Life Stamp Set.

This stamp set is a little awkward, in that it is one of those multi-layer stamp sets. However, Stampin’ Up! have made a handy video to help us… I am really looking forward to receiving my Stamparatus this week to play with this stamp set again!

Now… I post every single card I ever make on this blog. (I do have a stack that I haven’t got to yet, but I always aim to have a supply in back stock, just in case I can’t craft for a few weeks!) and so I wanted to share both the card that I am sending my brother…. and the one that I almost sent! So, I also, almost posted this first card, until I was writing this blog post…

and I watched the video from Stampin’ Up! I really liked this card, but it there was just something not right about it… and I realised that I could use of the mountain of Designer Series Paper that I have accumulated this year….

How to make a fun and fabulous new home card using Home Life from Stampin' Up! So this is the card that I have actually sent to my brother and his partner, Becca, and I used the Petal Garden Designer Series Paper (just like SU did!) to replace that busy stamped background! While I would have happily sent the first card, I am SO much happier with this one!

The Home Life stamp set and coordinating dies can be found in the Annual catalogue, and are available as a cost saving bundle. Did you know that bundled products save you a fabulous 10% compared to buying the items separately? Awesome!

Quick and easy card new home card using Home Life from Stampin' Up!

Of course I did also add a strip of Designer Series paper into the inside of the card too! I hope that they love it as much as I do…. I am hoping for a nice Wedding Stationary order from the happy couple soon….

One Little Word | February 2018

How to use Stampin' Up! Memories and More in One Little Word from Ali Edwards

StampinByHannah One Little Word February 2018

Ali Edwards One Little Word 2018

I really enjoyed completing my January spread for One Little Word. I am trying this year long project / class from Ali Edwards this year to see if I can be a little more intentional with my Mindfulness practice. I’ve been doing Mindfulness for a while to help with anxiety and panic… and I have to say over the past month or so I have been feeling much calmer, lets hope this continues well into 2018!

One Little Word Stamped vision board using Memories and More from Stampin' Up!

This month’s One Little Word prompt was “Vision Board”. This scared the pants off me, and I’m (ironically) not a particularly visual person… I like notes, and words, but pictures don’t really do much for me. So, after watching Ali’s videos and a couple of Vision Board YouTube videos (and a few weeks of thinking) I managed to put together this double page spread in my album.

This spread is a mixture of Memories and more cards and stamping. You can see all the products I’ve used at the end of this blog post.

Remember You Are Amazing Quote using Memories and More from Stampin' Up!

I’m loving quotes and things at the minute (did you see my wall art piece last week?) and so rather than chopping images out of magazines as suggested I grabbed for the Sweet Soiree Memories and More card pack and some stamps and set about creating something to make me happy. As you can see I do still have a blank space… not quite sure what to put there yet, but I am sure it’ll come to me before the end of the month.

Someone came to visit me while I was creating this project…

Memories and More meets One Little Word and a cat!

Freda-puss doesn’t usually bother with me much (she much prefers James!) but this one day she didn’t leave me all day!

The Sweet Soiree Memories and More Card Pack is available for FREE with a £45 order during Sale-a-bration. You can find all the latest Sale-a-bration news HERE!

Thoughtful Thursday | Stampin’ Up! Petal Palette Wall Art

Thoughtful Thursday How to create a fun Wall Art using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday Stampin’ Up! Petal Palette Wall Art

Stamping Techniques Series

Oh I had SO much fun making this weeks Thoughtful Thursday project! I have had this quote floating round my Pinterest for a while, and last week when it popped up again I decided that it was time to make the universe happy and do something with it!

Thoughtful Thursday Creating a piece of Wall Art using Petal Passion Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

I am such a sucker for a good font, and I absolutely LOVE this one! This project uses the Labeller Alphabet… this fabulous stamp set actually features two complete alphabets, the one I’ve used here that reminds me of an old fashioned type-writer, and a second one that has the letters inside squares. So this quote is hand stamped, letter by letter. Which sounds really complicated, and of course I have some fun tips and tricks…

  • Die cut first!
  • Draw a grid; grab a pencil and a ruler… you can rub it out afterwards!
  • Count out the letters and work out which words with fit on each line
  • Pull out ALL the letters you need and stick them to a large clear block, use this as your stamp ‘home’
  • Stamp the middle letter(s) of each row first

Thoughtful Thursday Mindfulness Quote Wall Art DIY

The rest of the frame came together quite quickly, with pretty Petal Passion Designer Series Paper, Emerald Envy Die Cuts from the Petals and More thinlits, and a cute bird from Petal Palette.

Before I go, I just want to remind you that my Monthly Facebook Live Online Card Class is this afternoon at 2PM… check out my Facebook Page for all the details!

Thoughtful Thursday | DIY Happiness Jar

How to make a Happiness Jar using Blossom Builder Punch Stampin' Up! products

StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday DIY Happiness Jar

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday

As I explained last week one of my New Years “resolutions” (I don’t do resolutions as a rule, but with 2018 came a list of things that HAD to change), was to be more consistent in my use of Mindfulness to help lessen my Anxiety issues. I have suffered from anxiety for a long time, and I have always been adamant that it would not rule my life, however during the last few months of 2017 it became apparent that it had.

So, one of the ways I have started to wok towards dealing with it is by using a Gratitude Journal. This led me to do a pretty extensive Pinterest search for Mindfulness… Yes, I really do have a secret board full of positivity quotes! And during January I started to write a Happy thing every day.

How to make a Happiness Jar using Stampin' Up! products

So, I have made this fun Happiness Jar to keep all my Happy Things in! I have chopped a load of Colour Theory Designer Series Paper into 3 x 3″ squares to write them on, partly because I have heaps of this DSP, and partly because its so bright and colourful and that makes me Happy!

The jar itself is a Korken from Ikea… which I had intended to use for Cookie mix as part of Christmas Countdown… but I think that this idea is better!

How to make a Happiness Jar using Stampin' Up! products

The cute tag was SO much fun to make (and that makes me happy too! It’s a simple tag of Island Indigo card stock punched with the Scallop Tag Topper punch. I did add some ink to the bottom, and some stamping from Picture Perfect Birthday.

The star of this is the flower though. I don’t make these very often, because they are a bit of a faff and definitely require the use of a hot glue gun. The flower uses the Blossom Builder Punch, punched 6 times out of Berry Burst card stock. To create some extra dimension I added some ink to the ends of the petals with a Stampin’ Sponge, and crinkled each petal before sticking them together with hot glue. The tag is completed with a Clear Facet Gem (which I also added with hot glue… just to make sure it doesn’t fall off in 6 months time!)

Thoughtful Thursday | How to make a Gratitude Journal

Thoughtful Thursday Gratitude Journal using Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper and Lovely Inside & Out from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday How to make a Gratitude Journal

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday

I have been mulling over this series for a while. I started it with a plan, and then I sort of bottled it a bit… but I have decided that it is time to start the series I intended. So, I started 2018 with a plan to use Mindfulness to help conquer my anxiety, and the first few weeks were great… but then I sort of fell of the wagon. So here we are at the 1st of February, and I am starting again (shall we call January a trail run?).

How to make a Gratitude Journal using Designer Series Paper with Naturally Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

One of my Mindfulness Practices is keeping a Gratitude Journal, which sounds really American and cheesy as a Brit… but it really really helps! When I do this on a regular basis I find that I manage to contain my negative thoughts and replace them with positive self-talk. This is SO powerful and prevents me from spiralling into a vortex of Anxiety and panic attacks about silly things.

I have recently been using the GLAD style of Gratitude; where GLAD stands for Grateful, Learned, Accomplishment and Delight. So each day I write down an event or feeling that matches each one of those prompts.

Thoughtful Thursday Designer Series Paper Notebook using Naturally Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

This journal is super easy to put together; as really its just copy paper and a piece of Designer Series Paper. These would make a really cute gift for a party hostess or a new team member too.

Measurements:

Designer Series Paper; Naturally Eclectic – 21.5 x 14.8 cm

5 sheets of copy paper cut in half

Directions:

  1. Fold each half sheet of copy paper in half. I didn’t bother to score first..
  2. Fold the Designer Series Paper in half
  3. Layer each piece of copy paper on top of each other, and then put this pile into the Designer Series Paper cover
  4. I have stapled mine together, but you could sew it (I have one of those long arm staplers for when I’m making wedding stationary… so I put it to use here!)

How to make a note book using Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

I added some extra decoration to the front cover with some layers of card stock and stamping using the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set. To keep it coordinated I picked out the colours in the Designer Series Paper; Night of Navy, Lemon Lime Twist, Soft Sky and Tranquil Tide. The stamp set has a collection of mix and match sentiments and I thought this one would be nice for the front of my journal.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope to see you again soon
