Stampin' Up! UK White Christmas

How cute is this polar bear! I masked him off and applied a watercolour wash of Soft Sky to get this cute watercolour card. Check out the video below for full details

What do you think? I’m loving that pop of Pear Pizzazz myself!

Divided Sweetie Box

Stampin' JUp! divided sweetie box video tutorial

I just LOVE this box! I think it would be great for Christmas or Easter gift giving and you could totally dress it up with some cute ribbon or a bit of punch work.

Stampin' Up! UK sweetie box video tutorial

The sweeties in the box are some I bought from Amazon for the sweetie bar at out Wedding, but they just weren’t quite right – but they found there use! I still have a heap of them left so you never know who might be receiving some soon (maybe some lovely Stampin@Home participants, maybe!).

Measurements:

Box Base –

card stock; 6 x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm)

Score at 1″ (2.5 cm) on all four sides

Box Lid –

card stock; 5 9/16th x 5 9/16th (14.1 x 14.1 cm) I know these measurements are a little awkward but they make for the perfect lid that doesn’t fall off!

Score on all four sides at 3/4″ (2cm)

Now we need to cut that hole in the lid. My Stampin’ Trimmer is a European version, and only has metric measurements on the trimmer arm, so sorry but I only have metric measurements for this bit.

Insert the box lid into the trimmer and line up the first side at 10.2 cm, using the cutting blade on the trimmer to cut from 4 cm to 10.2 cm. Repeat this on all four sides and the centre square should just pop out!

Box Inserts –

I’ve used a different colour of card stock for the insides to add contrast, you could keep all the pieces the same colour if desired!

One piece of card stock measuring 4 x 5 1/2″ (10 x 14 cm)

Score on the long side at 2″ (5 cm) on both sides, flip over at score at 2 3/4″ (7 cm)

One piece of card stock measuring 2 x 5 1/2″ (5 x 14 cm)

Thanks for being you

Stampin' Up! UK World Map Me = grateful

I’ve been using the World Map background stamp a lot recently, particularly for men’s cards, but I wanted to glam it up a bit and see if I could make it a little more feminine.  I think I’ve managed it!

Stampin' Up! UK World Map Me = grateful

I mean, you can’t add Melon Mambo Stitched Satin Ribbon to something and it NOT look girly, right?!

The World map is stamped in Pear Pizzazz onto Very Vanilla card stock, and the sentiment from Me = Grateful is in Melon Mambo. I’ve punched out the sentiment using the 1 3/4″ Scallop circle punch and added a piece of that gorgeous Stitched Satin ribbon and some loops of Thick Bakers Twine in Very Vanilla

So pretty

Week In Review

Stampin' Up! Weekly deals

Hello!

I’m back! sorry for the lack of Week In Reviews over the last couple of weeks, I have been very busy sunny myself on a beach trying to recover from the wedding! We had a great time, a lovely wedding day and a relaxing honeymoon, but we are home now, back to the grind stone and the craziness that is. I’m writing this post super early today before I finish packing the office ready to move everything out and clean the carpet (definitely not my favourite job but it needs doing).

Weekly Deals

Supply List

Built for Free Using:My Stampin Blog

We have 6 great Weekly Deals for you this week. I can’t get enough Washi Tape, and 5 rolls for just £5.44 is a bargain! These 5 tapes are in the 2014-2016 In Colours; Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey and Tangelo Twist and have 5 great patterns too. My top pick this week though must be the Fast Fuse refils – I love this stuff! takes a bit of getting used to but it is super strong and so convenient in a tape pen!

Clearance Rack

Yep, the Clearance Rack has just been updated too. There are some great bargains to be had, including a selection of lovely ribbons and stamps too!

What Have I Been Up To?

More than just lying on a beach, not a whole lot! However, I have sent a great stack of Autumn / Winter catalogues to everyone (hopefully they might start arriving today!) but I do still have some left, request a copy using the options at the top of the page.

I would love it if you checked out my Facebook page too, I have some great classes coming in September – remember I need you class payment before the day to confirm your booking

See you again next week (with some wedding pictures!)

Technique Tuesday | Spotlight Stamping

Stampin' Up! UK Technique Tuesday Awesomely Artisitic

Are you enjoying Technique Tuesday? you know if you make one of my projects I would LOVE to see it, why not share it with me on my Facebook page.

I spotted a card using this technique on a Facebook group a few weeks ago, and I’m really super sorry that I can’t remember who it was, so if it was you – please comment below so I can give you credit!

Stampin' Up! UK Technique Tuesday Awesomely Artisitic
Oh yes, I’ve been using Awesomely Artistic again! this time I’ve paired it with Me = Grateful to make some lovely Thank You cards.

How to:

Using Awesomely Artistic, stamp the background of the card using a pale ink. I’ve used Sahara Sand on Very Vanilla, and Smoky Slate on Whisper White here, stamped off once

Add you sentiment using Me = Grateful

On a scrap piece of card stock, the same colour as your background piece stamp the background image again, this time in full strength ink. I have stamped the floral arrangement in Sahara Sand or Smokey Slate, and the added the Dragonfly in a bold colour.

The trick here is to carefully stamp the dragonfly so the images line up with the background piece when you’ve punched them out.

Zoo Babies Congratulations Card

Stampin' Up! UK Zoo Babies congratulations card

Hello! Welcome to a new week at StampinByHannah!

I’m taking a little bit of a risk today, and am posting a card before I’m sending it! But I doubt very much that the recipients are going to see it! I have so many pregnant friends at the moment at it could be destined for a few people! I have to admit that most of the cards I post here on my Blog don’t get sent, but they do go with me to Craft Fairs and I will always let you have one if you see something you really like! Anyway, back to the card!

Stampin' Up! UK Zoo Babies congratulations card

I have said before that Zoo Babies is my favourite Baby stamp set. There are LOADS of baby and child themes sets in this years Annual catalogue, but because I don’t make that many children’s cards I will admit that I haven’t really ventured into this section of the new catalogue much and haven’t purchased any – I might have too soon though!

This card uses a Soft Sky card base, and a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper. I thought it would be really cute to stamp the animals in different colours, and so used; Perfect Plum, Soft Sky, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, Crushed Curry and Cucumber Crush.

Christmas Countdown | Santa’s Gifts!

Stampin' Up! Christmas Countdown Santa's Gifts

Ok, so have you started on your Christmas cards yet? No?! well, don’t worry because this coming week I will be sending out a small mountain of Autumn/Winter Catalogues – let me know that you want one by adding your name to the list!

Stampin' Up! Christmas Countdown Santa's Gifts

This card however, uses a stamp set you can get your hands on right now! have you found the Christmas section of the Annual Catalogue, it is AWESOME! I love this cute Santa, carrying a present or a candy cane! This stamp set also features a sweet little Rudolph I just can’t wait to use!

I’m sorry if this video was a little odd. I did some editing on this one (unusual for me) and I was trying out a new editing programme, think I will be returning to my normal editing suite next week!

Stampin' Up! Santa's Gifts

I have coloured Santa in here using my Stampin’ Write markers in Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Smokey Slate, Basic Black and Garden Green. I don’t even attempt blending with my markers, instead I just add a bit of a darker colour to create some shadow – nice, simple colouring in!

Colour the World (map)

Stampin' Up! UK Colour Me Irresistible World Map

Aren’t we always struggling for men’s birthday cards aren’t we?! Why are men so damn tricky! Well I think I have a almost perfect men’s card for you today

Stampin' Up! UK Colour Me Irresistible World Map

What do you think? What to know how I did that background? Well, because I love you, I will tell you!

The secret is Colour Me Irresistible (The speciality Designer Series Paper at the top of page 142 of the Annual Catalogue) This great designer series paper features some pieces of white resist paper, including this great stripe. I love stamping on Designer Series Paper, I have a habit of hoarding DSP, and getting it out to stamp on is a great way for me to use it! So, I’ve stamped on the Colour Me Irresistible using the World Map Background stamp – so great for Men’s card!

That Happy Birthday, well that’s from Guy Greetings, and I have used the decorative label to punch it out. Then I have used the same punch on a piece of Real Red card stock, and cut the punched piece in half, attaching on half to one side of my sentiment piece, and the other to the other side. This is then popped onto a couple of Dimensionals and added to the card over a couple of loops of Linen thread.

Technique Tuesday | Stamp Rolling

Stampin' Up! UK Video tutorial class workshop

Oh dear, now this post is messy 🙁 really messy. The technique is inky yes, but there is no need to make as much of a mess as me! (check out the video tutorial to see what I mean!)

Stampin' Up! UK Stamp Rolling video tutorial

This is stamp rolling, adding more than one ink colour to a round stamp from two different ink pads. I needed a circular stamp for this and just had to use I Think You’re Great again! The first card uses Bermuda Bay and Pool Party to create a two-tone stamped image, while the card on the right uses Cherry Cobbler and Real Red.

See, isn’t it so super simple (if you manage to keep hold of your stamps, unlike me!)

Stampin' Up! UK Video tutorial class workshop

How to:

Ink you stamp with a light ink colour (I used Real Red for this card)

Take a hold of your stamp (firmly) and press the edges of the stamp into the darker ink pad in a rolling motion, ensuring you don’t touch the middle of the stamp into the ink pad

Always use the lighter colour first so you don’t get darker ink into your light ink pads
