Pootles Papercraft Team Craft Retreat Swaps using Happy Birthday Gorgeous from Stampin' Up!

Make It Monday

Hello! I am super excited for this week at StampinByHannah…. I have BIG plans for the upcoming month, and we have a couple of totally AWESOME offers from Stampin’ Up! too

Pootles Papercraft Team Craft Retreat Swaps using Happy Birthday Gorgeous from Stampin' Up!

How cute are these?! I made 45 of these for my Stampin’ Sisters that attended our team Craft Retreat last weekend… I hope that they liked them. Actually I know that one of the recipients loved them – I made a few extra for some of the Pootles children, and one of them did a lovely video to say thanks (yes, it made me cry… a lot! but that’s me at the moment, very emotional, I’m putting it down to extreme stress….. hoping that is going to be over really soon…but that’s a completely different story!)

The actual swaps used the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper, but I think I have seen a little TOO MUCH of that paper recently and just couldn’t face making them again! So I have changed things up a bit for the tutorial and have used the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper instead…. Enjoy!

Just a quick video from me on this Monday…. but I have another 2 videos coming to you this week, so I hope that that makes up for it!

Measurements:

Designer Series Paper – 3 1/2 x 4 ” (9 x 10.5 cm)

Today is a Perfect Day …

Perfect Day Wedding Congratulations card using Bunch of Blossoms from Stampin' Up! UK

Ok, so, it may be raining (or not, I’m writing this in advance as usual!) but I have the Perfect congratulations card for you today!

I am just loving the new Bunch of Blossoms stamp set and coordinating punch. I have mentioned this many many times but one of the things that made me fall in LOVE with Stampin’ Up! is the coordinating products; the stamps with matching dies and punches, the sentiments that fit perfectly into the punches, the ribbon / embellishments / card stock / Designer Series Paper that match the ink colours. Fabulous! And this card is one of those that uses a Stamp / Punch bundle

Perfect Day Wedding Congratulations card using Bunch of Blossoms from Stampin' Up! UKThis great stamp set not only has a coordinating punch, but uses 2-step stamping to create this pretty faux-watercolour look. I’m a sucker for a good technique, and as you know I LOVE watercolour, but having stamps to do all the hard work for you is simply awesome!

Here I have stamped the flowers in Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo, while the leaves are Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive.

Punch Stamp Bunch of Blossoms Stampin' Up! UKI think that my favourite part of this card though is the heat embossed sentiment on Vellum. This soft look is created by stamping with Smoky Slate onto the Vellum, and because the ink dries very slowly on the Vellum you have time to add clear embossing powder and heat setting it! So pretty

Balloon Birthdays

Stampin' Up! UK Balloon birthday card

I’m making heaps of birthday cards at the moment – have you seen the awesome hashtag on social media? #imbringingbirthdaysback – its a great idea started by the lovely Shannon West from Stampin’ Up! home office in Utah, we don’t send enough birthday cards anymore, its just too easy to sent a birthday message when facebook reminds us its someone’s birthday – but I’m determined to get out of that habit! I am aiming to get myself organised and a stack of cards made this week so they are ready to write and send.

Stampin' Up! UK Balloon birthday card

This card really pops! Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette – BOOM!

I’m loving the Balloon Bouquet punch, and used it lots here to get this fabulous balloons. I sponged one side of all the balloons to create the illusion of dimension and added them to a piece of Pink Pirouette card stock embossed with the decorative dots embossing folder.

Stampin' Up! UK Balloon Celebration Birthday card

I wasn’t sure about the ‘strings’ on these balloons, I’m still not sure if a Basic Grey or Smoky Slate marker might have been a better choice than black – never mind it is what it is. This card was made specially for a nursing home that I donate a lot of birthday cards to, they love a simple card without too much detail and bright coloured cards are loved by their residents with Dementia.

12 Weeks of Christmas | Santa Punch Art Tag

Stampin' Up! UK Santa punch art

Stampin' Up! 12 weeks of Christmas

I will be the first to admit, punch art isn’t usually my thing, and this is totally CASe’d from another blogger, but I just loved this tag idea.

Stampin' Up! UK Santa punch art

This cute Santa is  made using a small selection of punched and a few scraps of card stock. I have two versions, on where Santa has a full head of hair, and one where he has a little bald spot going on. I’m swaying more towards baldy Santa, but I love them both!

Measurements:

Card stock – 2 x 8 1/2″ (5 x 21.5 cm), folded in half

Technique Tuesday | Faux In-lay Die Cutting

I have recently fallen head of heals in love with my Big Shot machine again. My Big Shot was one of those big ticket items I bought when I started crafting 5 years ago, and I have to admit it didn’t get the love and attention it deserved. However, since becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator last year, the amount of use my Big Shot gets keeps increasing, and I am the first to admit that its starting to get tired through over use! I am in desperate need of new cutting plates since my current set are now sporting the ‘stained glass’ effect, and I am forever tightening the handle. I might have to buy it some Christmas presents this year!

Stampin' Up! UK Faux InLay Die Cutting Technique Tuesday

I really enjoy the In-lay die cutting technique, but trying to get all those pieces back into the paper can be a bit of a pain. I have recently tried a few different types of Faux In-Lay Die Cutting, using both the big shot AND punches!

There is a Big Shot add on that is a must for this one, the Premium Crease Pad. Designed to help form the creases when using Bigz Dies, the crease pad stops the die from cutting all the way through your card stock, leaving an embossed effect. This works on both detailed dies, like the Hello You Thinlits, and Butterflies Thinlit dies (love those!) as well as framelit dies, like the Flower Fayre dies that coordinated with the Flower Patch stamps

Stampin' Up! UK Faux In Lay Die cutting video tutorial

In-layed punching is super simple, and is really effective with stamped images, or Designer Series Paper. Keep your eyes on a blog for some more of this technique for sure!

Wonderland!

Stampin' Up! UK Wonderland card

Hello!

This is likely to be a shorter post than usual today, as I am writing this on Wednesday night before this goes live on Thursday! I have never been this dis-organised with my blog, ever! But since getting home from honeymoon the world and his dog wants to see me, trying to change my name is turning into an enormous job, and so little things like writing my blog have slipped – still I haven’t missed a regular post yet! Although, I didn’t do my week in review yesterday, but that’s really because I have nothing to say!Stampin' Up! UK Wonderland card class

and, seeing as I have been crazy busy, I also haven’t made a great deal either! so, today I thought I would share one of the cards that you can make at home as part of my Stampin@Home class for September.

I am in love with this stamp set, Wonderland, those trees are stunning. Here, paired with that beautiful vellum and some gentle inking, I love this card!

Triangular Box

Stampin' Up! easy box quick cute

I will be the first to admit 3D papercraft is not really my forte. I am a cardmaker and a stamper, however, I do dabble in box making, and I am particularly proud of this one!

Stampin' Up! easy box quick cute

I have two versions of this super cute box! The first is a card stock version – with Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper panels, and the other a DSP version using the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stacks. Both hold up well, and are super easy to make too!

Measurements:

Cardstock or Designer Series Paper – 5 x 7 3/4″ (12.6 x 19.5 cm)

Score on the short side at 1 1/2, 3 and 4 1/2″ (3.8, 7.6 and 11.5 cm)

Score on the long side at 1 3/8″ (3.4 cm)

One the short side mark the centre of the middle square – with the skinny score line on the left  – mark at 2 3/4″ and with the skinny score line on the right at 2 1/4″ (7.3 and 5.8)

Use these marks to create the triangles that will become the opening flap lid and base of your box.

Card Storage Box

Stampin' Up! UK card storage box cherry on top DSP

There are a stack of these floating around on Pinterest, but I just had to put my own spin on it. The Classic Card Box. I wanted a box specifically to hold cards and envelopes while they wait to go to customers. Did you know that I always send a ‘Thank You’ card when you place an order in my store? If you have ordered and haven’t received a card it may be that you have selected ‘No Contact’ drop me an email if you think I’ve missed you.

Stampin' Up! UK card storage box video tutorial

The first box uses Lost Lagoon card stock, and a piece of that lovely Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack. Whereas the video version is in Bermuda Bay with a piece of Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper. I grabbed the Cherry on Top DSP during demonstrator Pre-Order, purely because it was available to me! Demonstrators get the chance to order from a sample of product before the big launch! and I have to say, looking at the pictures in the Catalogue, I’m not sure that I would have ordered if it hadn’t been in that pre-order selection. And I would have missed out! Because it is fabulous! Featuring Bermuda Bay, Cucumber Crush, Crushed Curry, Pool Party, Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder, and a collection of birthday themed papers with some great patterns; it would look fab as part of a Project Life album! I might even have to order a second pad!

Measurements:

Card stock – 12 x 8″ (30.5 x 20.5 cm)

Score on the long side at – 4 1/2, 5 3/4, 10 1/4, and 11 1/2″ (11.5, 14.5, 26, and 29 cm)

Score on the short side at – 1 1/4″ (3 cm) turn the card stock around and score in the wide section nearest the skinny flap at 1 1/2″ (4 cm)

Designer Series Paper – 4 1/4 x 5″ (11 X 12.5 cm)

Gorgeous Potpourri

Sometimes, although not often, I will make a batch of cards without sentiments. Generally it’ll be because I’m testing a colour combination or technique, and discover that I really like the result – exactly what happened here!
Stampin' Up! UK Gorgeous Grunge Petal PotpourriI writing my blogging list a few weeks ago and was pulling stamp sets off the shelf, and these two landed next to each other – Gorgeous Grunge (always a favourite) and Petal Potpourri. I’ll do this quite often as well, generally when I’m completely lacking in inspiration! I’ll just grab two random stamp sets, and three ink pads and see where I end up. Usually its something reasonable, other times its a mess and goes in the bin!

The doily stamp is so pretty, paired with Melon Mambo and punched out with the Flower Medallion Punch (currently on a Weekly deal!). I just love the look of a few of these doilies stacked together, its so pretty.

The rest of the card is a combination of two stamps from Gorgeous Grunge stamped in Blackberry Bliss and Soft Sky. Pretty
