The heart mask is super easy to create too, I used the sweetheart punch to punch out a piece of Grid paper to use as a mask. Then use stamps (I used the small heart from Jar of Love) to stamp around the heart in Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral and Watermelon Wonder. Lovely!

Question of the Day: What is your favourite Valentines sweet treat?

I’m a sucker for anything chocolate-y, My Mr. usually buys me Thorntons for any occasion, although I dread to think what he is buying me this year seeing as we are both on a major diet 🙁

This Christmas | Large Giftbag

Large gift bag featuring This Christmas Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

I am starting to get ready for a very crafty Christmas this year! I have plans for heaps of cards, packaging and a scattering of decorations, baking, and maybe even some handcrafted presents this year. As usual I am on a pretty tight budget as saving for our house deposit ramps up again (I really wanted to move before Christmas this year, but somehow this year has become rather expensive what with changing jobs and travelling up and down the country to see unwell relatives and to attend weddings!), so this year’s Christmas is going to have to be a rather creative one – which of course I will share completely with you!

As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator I had the opportunity this month to pre-order some goodies from the mainly Christmas-themed Autumn / Winter catalogue, which launches on 1st September. However, due to my busy work schedule and 10 days holiday I have barely even opened the box! I know, it’s shocking isn’t it, I am hoping to get some crafty time this week to catch up!

Large gift bag featuring This Christmas Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

This gift bag is uses a combination of both Annual Catalogue products and sneak-peak goodies from the new Autumn / Winter release. The paper is This Christmas Speciality Designer Series Paper, which you can find in the Annual catalogue. This paper is gorgeous! a lighter weight that our usual DSP, but still strong enough for a gift bag for a lighter gift; I’m thinking bag bombs or chocolates here!

The gift bag itself is made using the Gift Bag Punch Board. I LOVE this gadget for a quick packaging idea, super simple – the instructions are even printed on the board itself so I can’t forget how it works! This particular bag uses the L sizes on the board, and a full 12 x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) piece of Designer Series Paper

Christmas gift bag using This Christmas Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! UKNow onto my sneak-peak! This simple gift tag uses a stamp from the Peace This Christmas stamp set (Annual catalogue) but is heat embossed in Glitter Embossing Powder – yes, that’s glitter that doesn’t come off! Yay! I’ve only had a quick play with this stuff so far, but I can safely say I would expect a VERY glittery Christmas this year if you’re coming to my house!

The other sneaky-peak is that stunning Cherry Cobbler Silky Taffeta ribbon comes in a combo pack with a spool of Emerald Envy too! so pretty.

Gift Bag Punch Board Bag with Flap

Gift bag punch board project

I’m sorry, I know the title of this post is a bit of a mouthful. However, I’m at a bit of a loss of what else to call it!

I’m loving the new Gift Bag Punch Board! I think it’s proving to be almost as versatile as the Envelop Gift Board (that I truly adore!) and I have several projects and videos coming in the next few weeks!

Stampin' Up! UK Gift bag punch board

I am also sorry for my terrible bows! That satin ribbon is still my nemesis! however, the 1″ dotted lace trim (in the new In-Colours) tied like a dream! I think I need to watch some more bow tying tutorials to master that satin ribbon though!

Measurements:

Card stock (although, this would work just as well with Designer Series Paper) – 10″ x 8 1/4″ (25.5 x 21 cm) or a piece of A4 cut on the long side to 10″ (25.5 cm)

Follow the instructions on the Gift Bag punch board to make a Small bag

Once you have the basic gift bag punched and scored, turn your card stock around and repeat the steps in reverse order, so that you end up with symmetrical flaps on both sides

Fold the flaps down on one side and use the other side of the punch board to punch holes as described on the board

Stampin' Up! UK gift bag with flap

These bags are super simple to make, although I’m sure I have made it look trickier than it is in the video (lots of ‘bloopers’ recently!), why not grab your board and have a go, I would love to see what you create!

How to use the Stampin’ Up! Gift Bag Punch Board

Stampin' Up! UK Gift bag punch board tutorial

I love a simple gift bag, and with the Gift Bag Punch Board Stampin’ Up!® has made making super cute bags super easy! I know I will be using this punch board lots in the coming months (and even more around Christmas!) but I wanted to give you a quick guide to using the board before we drive into more complex projects with it!

How To:

The gift box punch board has the instructions printed onto it so you can refer back at each use, but I thought I would share some tips.

The punch board includes a great scoring tool / bone folder – always store it back into the board so you don’t loose it! It is so easy to loose a great tool like this in your crafty mess

The width of the paper or card stock is important: a small gift back uses 10″ (25.4 cm) wide DSP, and the S line on the board. A medium sized bag uses 11″ (27.9 cm) wide DSP and the M line on the board. A Large bag uses 12″ (30.5 cm) wide DSP and the L line on the board. The length of the DSP (or card stock) is not important, and just varies the height of the final bag, the board suggests using lengths between 4″ (10 cm) and 12″ (30.5 cm) In the video the card stock that I used was 10 x 6″ (25.4 x 15 cm)

The punch may be a little stiff, use the board on a table and stand to punch.

Have fun!
