Congratulations card idea using Botanical Layers from Stampin’ Up!

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah. Today I have a simple Congratulations card to share with you. I haven’t actually delivered this card at the time that this blog post goes live, BUT I don’t think my cousin (or any other member of my family!) actually follow this blog, and so I’m sure I’m fairly safe to share it!

Usually, for a Wedding Congratulations card I’m sure most people would go all out. In fact, I’ve done similar before, with layers and dimension, texture and lovely colours. However, that’s not really appropriate for the happy couple today. So, I’ve created something a bit more ‘Them’ that the norm for such an occasion.

This card uses Botanical Layers, which is a stamp set that has carried over from last year and I think it was a bit buried in last years catalogue so I’m so pleased to have it for another year. The leaves are stamped in Soft Seafoam and Lost Lagoon. While the sentiment, taken from Best Family Ever, is in Calypso Coral.

For all this card is simple, I have still ensured that it has a stamped envelope and that the inside hasn’t been neglected either.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, but before you leave StampinByHannah today, please do consider subscribing to my emails, or following me on Instagram!

Congratulations with Bloom and Grow

Hey folks! I don’t know about you, but I make a LOT of cards and then never seem to send many. I even forgot a friends birthday a couple of months ago, but its OK, because I sent her this pretty card as a Congratulations for getting a new job. One of my current favourite stamp and die sets is Bloom and Grow (I’ve share it a fair bit here!) and I couldn’t resist getting it out again for this card.

Congratulations with Bloom and Grow from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The floral spray is stamped in Memento Black ink because I’ve coloured this one in using Blends. Although, there isn’t actually any blending! The colours used are; Light Blackberry Bliss, Dark Flirty Flamingo, Light Call Me Clover, Light Pool Party and Light So Saffron.

How to make a cute Congratulations card using Bloom and Grow from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The Congratulations sentiment isn’t from Bloom and Grow though, it’s actually from Well Said… which (along with the coordinating dies) is an absolute staple in my craft room at the moment!

Congratulations card using Stampin' Blends with StampinByHannah

I love getting a text message to say that my card has arrived, and it’s always nice to surprise someone with something that says ‘I’m thinking of you’.

Every single one of my customers receives a little handmade something when the order; often it’s a card, and sometimes is a little something extra.

First Frost Congratulations

On Saturday I shared 3 fun cards based on a challenge set by the InspireINK team, however they weren’t the only cards I made for the challenge! Today’s card was my original creation…

Pretty Congratulations card using First Frost from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

This card uses the First Frost stamp set and coordinating Frosted Bouquet framelits. This set was originally part of the Stampin’ Up! Christmas catalogue last year, but its just so versatile, and is perfect for more occasions that just Christmas.

Here I’ve stamped the background in Night of Navy, and then used 2 different ink pads (Highland Heather and Mango Melody) to ink up one of the floral sprays which is then die cut and popped up on Dimensionals.

Pretty floral Congratulations card using First Frost from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The card is finished with a stamped sentiment from the same stamp set and a trio of trio of jewels!

International Blog Highlights | Congratulations with Frosted Florals

Pretty floral congratulations card for Kylie's International Blog Highlights using First Frost from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah International Blog Highlights | Congratulations with Frosted Florals

Kylies International Blog Highlight banner

Wow… these Blog Highlights come around quicker and quicker don’t they? This month’s theme is Congratulations! and I think we have the most perfect stamp set for Congratulations cards in the new Autumn Winter catalogue. First Frost has the most beautiful mixture of pretty florals and festive phrases, but there is also a Congratulations in there too….

Layered Watercolour Floral Card using First Frost from Stampin' Up!

This stamp set is part of my favourite suite in the new catalogue… I mean, it’s got watercolour effect flowers, and shimmery Designer Series Paper…. what’s not to love?!

I’ve not used the Designer Series Paper on this card, instead I’ve stuck with stamping and die cutting with the coordinating dies and created this fun layered card. I did however, use the Paper on THIS card from last weekend!

The first layer is some tone on tone, Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake Card Stock stamping, and then I’ve used Mint Macaron, Flirty Flamingo and Highland Heather for the die cut leaves and flowers

Floral Congratulations card using First Frost from Stampin' Up!

I almost added Rhinestones or Pearls…. but then I changed my mine and chose to keep things simple, finishing the card with the sentiment stamped in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla card stock.

Do check out the other Highlight projects over on Kylie’s Blog…. and Don’t forget to Vote for you favourites too!

InspireINK | Wedding Congratulations with Petal Palette from Stampin’ Up!

Pretty in Pink Wedding Congratulations card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah InspireINK Wedding Congratulations with Petal Palette from Stampin’ Up!

InspirInk Blog Hop Header Stampin' Up! team blog hop

Are you ready for some serious Wedding Inspiration this month?! I think the girls on the InspireInk team thought I was a bit mean when I made the suggestion of doing a Wedding theme this month… but I know that we are just gearing up for the Wedding Season and I am sure that Wedding or Congratulations inspiration is always much appreciated!

I just HAD to use my absolute favourite stamp set from this years Stampin’ Up! Spring Summer catalogue for this congratulations card… the Petal Palette bundle has been constantly out and on my desk since it arrived in my craft room back in December. I am SO excited that it is carrying over in this years Annual Catalogue too! I do have a confession to make about this card though… It was made it right at the beginning of the month, before Stampin’ Up! announced the Colour Revamp… and so it does uses Rose Red which is sadly about to retire!

How to make a Pretty Wedding Congratulations card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The other retiring item on this card is the Petal Palette bundle… while the stamps and the dies are continuing into the new catalogue the 10% bundle discount will end on the 31st May. So it is definitely worth thinking about grabbing it sooner rather than later!

This card is a little different from the ones I usually share here on the blog, it’s a totally different size! The Blushing Bride card base is cut at 10 x 5″, and scored on the long edge at 5″ to create a 5 x 5″ square card (and I’m going to have to get out my Envelope Punch Board to make it a custom sized envelope too!). The layers are then cut at 4-3/4 x 4-3/4 and 4-1/2 x 4-1/2 ” to create the pretty layered effect.

InspireINK Blog Hop Wedding Card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The main detail on this card is concentrated in the bottom right hand corner… and I’ve been playing with layering again so we have:

  • stamped dotty boarder stamp from Petal Palette in Blushing Bride ink
  • Die cut boarder in Fresh Fig
  • Die cut floral corner from Champagne foil sheet
  • Two birds stamped from Petal Palette in Blushing Bride and Rose Red, die cut with the coordinating Petals and More Thinlits
  • Congratulations stamped in Fresh Fig and die cut before being popped up on Dimentionals
  • A trio of Clear Facet Gems

I hope that you have enjoyed you visit to StampinByHannah today, please do consider signing up for my regular emails (and exclusive email tutorials!) before you hop along to the next person on our Wedding Themed Blog Hop….

Cute little bird baby card using Swirly Bird from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah International Blog Highlights Swirly Bird Baby Card…

Kylies International Blog Highlight banner

Oh my! This month’s Blog Highlight was a challenge! I’m just coming onto the phase in my life where everyone is having babies… and so making baby cards isn’t something I’ve done all that much of! I have just bought one of the baby themed stamp sets from the Annual catalogue because one of my best girl friends is due a baby any day…. but neither have arrived yet! So, I had to turn to my existing stamp collection…. and at that point I got stuck!

Pinterest to the rescue… and THIS card from the lovely Pat Tecza… and so this card was born!

How to make a fun baby card using Swirly Bird from Stampin' Up!

I haven’t taken Swirly Bird off the shelf for ages… I’d forgotten how much I love it! The card base has been stamped in Soft Sky ink onto Soft Sky card stock for a fun tone on tone effect. Then there is a hint of something special with a couple of stripes of Washi Tape down the right hand side

Cute little baby congratulations card using Swirly Bird from Stampin' Up!

The Congratulations is taken from the Home Life bundle. I’ve been using this one a LOT recently, it’s got some really handy sentiments… and don’t get my started on that font!

I completed this card with a fun double bow in Pool Party solid Bakers Twine.

StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday New Home Card with Home Life from Stampin’ Up!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday

This week sees the end of my Thoughtful Thursday series (for now!) as I have something super exciting starting next Thursday with some fabulous Stampin’ Friends. Don’t worry I will still be bringing you my monthly One Little Word updates… and I’m going to incorporate some of the content into Mondays and Fridays too!

How to make a bright and fun New Home card with Stampin' Up! Home Life Stamp and Die Bundle

I’ve had a HEAP of friends and family move house recently, and New Home cards have been in high demand. Luckily I have the fabulous Home Life Stamp and Die bundle from Stampin’ Up! to make them really easy. Bundles are a great way to save some £££’s… as you save 10% over buying the stamps and dies separately. I shared another fabulous New Home card a few weeks ago…

The colour inspiration was taken from the Colour Theory Designer Series Paper pack. This pack of paper is a fun selection of Berry Burst, Dapper Denim, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive, and it coordinates with those fun Glitter Enamel Dots too!

Fun New Home Card using Home life from Stampin' Up!

Stampin’ Up! is all about the coordinating products… it’s one of the many many reasons why I LOVE it! Stamps that match dies, that coordinate with fun Designer Series Paper, which use colours that we have in inks, and card stock, and ribbons and embellishments. Stampin’ Up! make making coordinated projects super easy!

Saying that… the 2018 Retiring list will be released on Monday, and I am 99% sure that most of the current Designer Series Papers will be on it. So if you like a pack, grab it sooner rather than later!

International Blog Highlights | Petal Palette

International Blog Highlights Floral Congratulations card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah International Blog Highlights Petal Palette

Kylies International Blog Highlight banner

One of the many great things about being a part of Stampin’ Up! is joining in international crafting events, getting to share and craft with people around the world! I LOVE taking part in these events, and am always blown away by the wonderful creations of everyone taking part.

Kylie always sets us a theme or challenge as part of the International Blog Highlights, and this month its ‘Favourite Spring Summer or Sale-a-bration Item!’ Last month I shared one of my favourite packs of Designer Series Paper; True Gentlemen, and this month I’m sharing my favourite Stamp Set; Petal Palette!

How to make a watercolour floral Congratulations card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

I have recently been playing with adding lots of layers onto my cards, and this card is the results of that. There are actually two videos of this card too, the first was my Watercolouring Techniques post from last week, and then the second was in my email yesterday!

Because of the number of elements I though I would break it down for you:

  • Dotted stamp from Petal Palette stamped repeatidy in Tranquil Tide without reinking
  • Loops of Gold Metallic Thread
  • Several die cuts from the Petals & More Thinlits dies, cut from a watercoloured piece of Shimmery White card stock.
  • A Gold Glimmer Paper die cut branch
  • Congratulations stamped in Tranquil Tide and die cut using the coordinating dies
  • A trio of Gold Metallic Enamel Shape Hearts

Petal Palette Congratulations Card using Stampin' Up! products

I love the texture that is created when you die cut from a watercoloured panel, particularly when those die cuts are then layered. So pretty!

Thanks so much for stopping by StampinByHannah today, and don’t forget to Vote for my card over at CraftyKylie.com!

Another venture into Shabby Chic….

Shabby chic congratulations card using Sheet Music stamp from Stampin' Up!

Ok, so a few weeks ago I attempted to make a shabby chic style card for my lovely friend Amanda…. just after I made that I discovered that I needed a congratulations card pretty quickly! My darling little brother popped the question to his lovely girlfriend…. and as a card maker, I HAD to send a hand made congratulations!

Shabby chic congratulations card using Sheet Music stamp from Stampin' Up!

This card was super super simple to put together… although it does use a couple of stamp sets and a die set! But when your brother gets engaged I think that’s allowed. The background is the new Sheet Music background stamped in Crumb Cake onto Very Vanilla. I added some inking around the edges too, to add to the vintage / shabby effect. I actually added the same to a corner of the inside of the card too….

Wedding Congratulations card using Sheet Music and Eclectic Layers thinlits from Stampin' Up!

The sentiment is from Floral Phrases, stamped in Rich Razzleberry and heat embossed in clear onto Vellum.

That fabulously sparkly, gold glitter diamond was the whole inspiration for this card. I die cut the diamond using the Eclectic Layers dies in Gold Glimmer paper… but then, how to you attach something that detailed onto a card?! Well, Stampin’ Up! have that covered…. the new Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. I LOVE these! They are super easy to use (and VERY sticky!) Just add the sheet to the back of your card stock before you die cut it…. and you have adhesive already on your die cuts! Awesome…. don’t worry, I have a video coming really soon!
