How to make a lidded box for Neal’s Yard Bee Lovely Hand Cream

How to make a Lidded Box for Bee Lovely Hand Cream from Neal's Yard using Jar of Love from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah How to make a lidded box for Neal’s Yard Bee Lovely Hand Cream

It’s been a while since I shared a 3D project on the blog. It really is something I’d like to do more of, it’s just not something that comes particularly naturally to me. However, this box came together super fast!

I LOVE the look of hand-made boxes with separate lids, but getting the lid to be the perfect size to fit is a little tricky. My method of doing this is to cut the lid ever so slightly bigger than needed. I used to at 1/16″ or 1mm, but now I tend to not even add that much! For the measurements of this box check the end of this post.

How to make a lidded box using Jar of Love from Stampin' Up!

I have recently signed up as a Neal’s Yard Remedies Organic Consultant, and this hand cream arrived in my Starter Kit and it smells amazing! You can see the full range over on my NYROragnic webstore, or order a free catalogue using my Contact Me page.

Measurements:

Box Base:

Card stock; 9-1/2 x 7-1/4″ (25 x 18 cm)

Score on the long side at 2-1/4, 4-1/2, 6-3/4, and 9″ (6, 12, 18 and 24 cm)

Score on the short side at 2-1/4″ (6 cm)

Box Lid:

Designer Series Paper; 4-1/4 x 4-1/4″ (12 x 12 cm) — this is where you could also add 1/16″ or 1mm

Score on all 4 sides at 1″ or 3cm

The Neutral coloured box uses the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper which is carrying over into the new Stampin’ Up! Annual catalogue, while the Lemon Lime Twist version uses Naturally Eclectic which is only available While Stocks Last on the Retiring List!

Both boxes also use the Jar of Love stamp set, for that cute bug stamp, and the coordinating Everyday Jars framelits. I love the look of tone on tone stamping here, where you stamp with the same colour ink as your card stock. Very Classic.

Make It Monday | Quick and Easy OnStage Swaps!

Make It Monday Video Tutorial Using the Envelope punch board

StampinByHannah Make It Monday Quick and Easy OnStage Swaps!

Make It Monday

On Saturday I shared all the fabulous swaps that I received at Stampin’ Up! OnStage last weekend. Today I thought I would share the project I swapped… as well as the gift I sent my wonderful March customers!

Make It Monday How to make a cute envelope using Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

These are super duper easy to pop together. Can you believe I made 48 of these in just 1 hour and 40 minutes! Partly because I used Wood Textures Designer Series Paper which comes in  6 x 6″… the exact right size for these cute envelopes! and partly because I kept things simple with punches and basic stamping!

This fun project uses the Envelope Punch Board. I LOVE this tool so much, it’s just SO handy! I use it all the time for custom sized envelopes for special occasion cards, as well as being super handy for a quick thinking of you type gift. It’s so easy to use too… as you can see in the video tutorial!

Measurements:

Designer Series Paper: 6 x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm)

Punch and score on each side at 3″ using the Envelope Punch Board

Make It Monday March Stampin' Up! Customer gifts with Colour Theory from Stampin' Up!

I was on so much of a roll with these that I kept going once I had finished my swaps, switching to the fun Colour Theory Designer Series Paper, to make my March Customer thank you gifts! I continued to use the same stamp set, Hedgehugs,  but changed the colours to the retiring Dapper Denim colour instead!

I’ll be sharing more the Stampin’ Up! Colour Revamp very soon!

Thoughtful Thursday | DIY Colouring Book using Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper

How to make a DIY Colouring Book using Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper

StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday DIY Colouring Book using Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday

I have a quick and fun Thoughtful Thursday project for you this week… a DIY Colouring Book. Adult colouring is such a big trend at the moment, and it’s always handy to be able to pull out a colouring book for a child at a moments notice… these are perfect for your handbag, ready for that quiet moment waiting for an appointment, or entertaining a child at dinner.

How to make a DIY Colouring Book using Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper

The cover is a single piece of Designer Series Paper, this one is taken from Eastern Palace (because I LOVE Fresh Fig!) and I have added a stamped panel using Crafting Forever, and a ribbon to keep the book closed.

Measurements:

Book Cover: Designer Series Paper; 10 x 6-1/4″ (25 x 16 cm), scored on the long edge at 5″ (12.5 cm)

Colouring Pages; Just Add Colour Designer Series Paper; 6 pieces measuring 6 x 4-1/2″ (15 x 11.5 cm), score each piece at 1/2″ (1.5 cm) on the right hand side

To secure pages I simply stapled the pages together and then used strong adhesive tape (Tear & Tape, or Red Line tape would work well) to stick the pages into the cover.

How to make a DIY Colouring Book using Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper

The Just Add Colour Speciality Designer Series Paper is 12 sheets of 12 x 12″ card stock weight paper, all printed with lovely line images that are just begging to be coloured in! These would be great paired with Stampin’ Blends, Stampin’ Write Markers or Watercolour Pencils, which you could pop into one of the Stampin’ Up! spare cases to keep everything contained.

Make It Monday Video Tutorial Fold Top Mini Gift Bags using Bubbles and Fizz Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration

StampinByHannah Make It Monday | Fold Over top mini gift bag using Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper

Make It Monday

I don’t know about you but I have started to prepare for Easter.. (I probably should be preparing for Mother’s Day to, but I haven’t even thought about it yet! and its on Sunday!!!). I LOVE making cute little bags and things for chocolates for the people at work, and I think I might make a batch of these for our work Spring Fair at the end of March. I have a plan to put mini chocolate eggs in them, but they would be lovely with some bath salts or mini soap too!

Make It Monday How to make a cute mini gift bag with patterned paper from Stampin' Up!

These both use the lovely Bubbles and Fizz Designer Series Paper (available for FREE during Sale-a-bration!), and I think these bright colours make these bags awesome for kids party favours or a school fair! Anyway, the Bubbles and Fizz paper also coordinates with the Bubble Over stamp and die bundle in the Spring Summer catalogue this year. The paper features images that the dies cut out! How cool is that!

Like I mentioned, this Designer Series paper is available for free with a £45 order during Sale-a-bration! Yay!

Measurements:

Designer Series Paper – 6 x 5-1/2″ (15 x 14 cm)

Score on the short side at 1-1/4, 2-1/2, 3-3/4, and 5″ (3, 6 , 9 and 12 cm)

Score on the long side at 1″ (2.5 cm)

There are actually 2 other Sale-a-bration goodies on this project; the Shimmer Ribbon Combo pack, and the Blossoming Basket Stamp Set!

Thoughtful Thursday | Stampin’ Up! Petal Palette Wall Art

Thoughtful Thursday How to create a fun Wall Art using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday Stampin’ Up! Petal Palette Wall Art

Stamping Techniques Series

Oh I had SO much fun making this weeks Thoughtful Thursday project! I have had this quote floating round my Pinterest for a while, and last week when it popped up again I decided that it was time to make the universe happy and do something with it!

Thoughtful Thursday Creating a piece of Wall Art using Petal Passion Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

I am such a sucker for a good font, and I absolutely LOVE this one! This project uses the Labeller Alphabet… this fabulous stamp set actually features two complete alphabets, the one I’ve used here that reminds me of an old fashioned type-writer, and a second one that has the letters inside squares. So this quote is hand stamped, letter by letter. Which sounds really complicated, and of course I have some fun tips and tricks…

  • Die cut first!
  • Draw a grid; grab a pencil and a ruler… you can rub it out afterwards!
  • Count out the letters and work out which words with fit on each line
  • Pull out ALL the letters you need and stick them to a large clear block, use this as your stamp ‘home’
  • Stamp the middle letter(s) of each row first

Thoughtful Thursday Mindfulness Quote Wall Art DIY

The rest of the frame came together quite quickly, with pretty Petal Passion Designer Series Paper, Emerald Envy Die Cuts from the Petals and More thinlits, and a cute bird from Petal Palette.

Before I go, I just want to remind you that my Monthly Facebook Live Online Card Class is this afternoon at 2PM… check out my Facebook Page for all the details!

Thoughtful Thursday | DIY Happiness Jar

How to make a Happiness Jar using Blossom Builder Punch Stampin' Up! products

StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday DIY Happiness Jar

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday

As I explained last week one of my New Years “resolutions” (I don’t do resolutions as a rule, but with 2018 came a list of things that HAD to change), was to be more consistent in my use of Mindfulness to help lessen my Anxiety issues. I have suffered from anxiety for a long time, and I have always been adamant that it would not rule my life, however during the last few months of 2017 it became apparent that it had.

So, one of the ways I have started to wok towards dealing with it is by using a Gratitude Journal. This led me to do a pretty extensive Pinterest search for Mindfulness… Yes, I really do have a secret board full of positivity quotes! And during January I started to write a Happy thing every day.

How to make a Happiness Jar using Stampin' Up! products

So, I have made this fun Happiness Jar to keep all my Happy Things in! I have chopped a load of Colour Theory Designer Series Paper into 3 x 3″ squares to write them on, partly because I have heaps of this DSP, and partly because its so bright and colourful and that makes me Happy!

The jar itself is a Korken from Ikea… which I had intended to use for Cookie mix as part of Christmas Countdown… but I think that this idea is better!

How to make a Happiness Jar using Stampin' Up! products

The cute tag was SO much fun to make (and that makes me happy too! It’s a simple tag of Island Indigo card stock punched with the Scallop Tag Topper punch. I did add some ink to the bottom, and some stamping from Picture Perfect Birthday.

The star of this is the flower though. I don’t make these very often, because they are a bit of a faff and definitely require the use of a hot glue gun. The flower uses the Blossom Builder Punch, punched 6 times out of Berry Burst card stock. To create some extra dimension I added some ink to the ends of the petals with a Stampin’ Sponge, and crinkled each petal before sticking them together with hot glue. The tag is completed with a Clear Facet Gem (which I also added with hot glue… just to make sure it doesn’t fall off in 6 months time!)

Make It Monday Video Tutorial How to Make a Self Closing Bag using Stampin' Up! Products

StampinByHannah Make It Monday Body Shop Self Closing Bag Tutorial

Make It Monday

It was my Birthday a few weeks ago, and one of my Sister-in-Laws (I am not giving my brother any credit for any presents ever again!) gave me a whole bunch of Body Shop goodies. One of the things she gave me was some gorgeous hand cream, and I just HAD to make a cute bag for it!

Make It Monday Cut Self Closing Bag Tutorial using Just Add Colour Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

This Self Closing bag is really simple to make. However, I did manage to get in wrong the first time… using the wrong blade on my trimmer to trim rather than score my Designer Series Paper! #fail!

Measurements:

Designer Series Paper: 6 x 4 1/2″ (15 x 12 cm)

Score on the SHORT side at 2 and 4″ (5 and 10 cm)

Score on the LONG side at 1″ (2.5 cm) on the side that you want to be at the bottom of your bag

Put your Designer Series Paper into your Simple Scored with the SHORT side at the top, and the skinny strip before the score line, at the top… and score at  1 1/2 and 3 1/2 inches (or 4.5 and 9.5 cm)
